I went ahead and pulled the trigger for my Mac and the wife's Win 10 machine. Small issue with the storefront and getting the redemption code to show. But their customer service reps were quick to respond (15 minutes) and resolved the problem.

I would normally avoid MS as it is very chic to do so, but at fifty bucks, its a no brainer.

Also Outlook > Apple Mail... fight me.

So I just took advantage of this offer and bought Office 2021 for Mac. After uninstalling/deleting (as per Microsoft instructions) all remnants of Office 2019 on my Mac, I redeemed my new product key. But when I go to my Microsoft account and download/install Office 2021, I notice that I seem to end up with Office 2019 again installed (e.g., the About Word info still says "Retail License 2019").

After a bit of investigation, I see that my Microsoft account allows me to download and install each of my two most recent purchases -- Office 2019 and Office 2021 -- but either such download apparently downloads only the Office 2019 (v.16.60) installer. The download file for Office 2019 (Microsoft_Office_16.60.22041000_Installer.pkg) is 1.92 GB. The download file for Office 2021 (Microsoft_Office_16.60.22041000_BusinessPro_Installer.pkg) is 2.02 GB. Did Microsoft just take Office 2019 as is, add the Teams app, and then call it Office 2021, not even bothering to update the license year of the individual apps?

Can anyone with Office for Mac 2021 please confirm that their About info for Word, Excel, etc., still says "Retail License 2019" (and not 2021)?

MS makes a tool to strip MS licenses off your Mac. You should run it, then try installing MS Office 2021 again. I had to use this tool when removing my MS Office stuff associated with my employer's M365 account.

Thank you! The license-removal tool seems to have worked. Now my Word, PowerPoint, and Excel apps report that they each have an Office Home & Business 2021 License.

The Office apps for 2019, 2021 and 365 are all exactly the same. The features you get are determined by your license. As suggested in the post before mine, you need to reset the license using the tool linked on this page: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...on-a-mac-b032c0f6-a431-4dad-83a9-6b727c03b193
and then you'll be able to use your 2021 license key.

Looks like StackSocial is running this sale again. I just received this in my Inbox.

It's for a legit Lifetime-License key for $50 and it works fine. I picked-up my copy there the other day and it Installs and Activates without a problem.

Microsoft Office Home & Business 2021 for Mac

I hope this helps someone.
I received my key instantly. A Microsoft Account is required to redeem.
Thanks for this; I just went and found that there's a 2021 Office bundle that will last until at least 2026 which seems far better than purchasing a yearly subscription. Just wanted to ask if you've had any issue with StackSocial? I'd never heard of them before this post, and want to be sure it's legit. Thanks so much!

You are welcome. Yes, that is what I was thinking. :)

Yeah, StackSocial is very legit ... been around for years now.

Glad to see this is helping some people out ... even though I did get a warning from the forum-admins about posting it initially. Let's see if I get a warning about publicizing my warning.

Thank you for this, OP. I just upgraded to the M2 Air from a 10 year old Mac and did not want to pay for that Microsoft 365 subscription.
