It's probably the AI + Copilot integration; Microsoft is supposedly planning to put Copilot into even the most basic apps like Notepad. 😮

Clearly the answer for Apple is to integrate the rumored new SiriGPT into everything, and I do mean everything. TextEdit? Terminal? There's nowhere you can go where you can be safe from the gentle glow of Siri's all-seeing eye.

(this is meant as a joke but it might happen for real 😅)
As a consumer, I would love SiriGPT into the Apple eco system.....please just dont charge for it lol

I like the new Microsoft that has emerged since the old guard left. Nadella has done well at making MS more open and innovative.

Jamf admin here. I don't think Apple will. Their iPhone game is a big enough gold mine in enterprise (and elsewhere) that they don't need that Mac business. And they won't beat Dell on upfront hardware pricing, MBAs and CIOs don't typically look at TCO over 5 years because they won't statistically be answering for that decision in 5 years time... the average term of a CIO is under 3 years.
As a fellow Jamf admin, I concur.

This will collapse again when the third AI winter starts.

I am actually hedging on this heavily.

Not that any of this matters really!

An absolutely meaningless and literally stupid number but the media doesn’t care because most people are clueless but if Apple didn’t buy back over 40% of it stock it would be 5 trillion. Anyhow now the govt will look at msft

Gotta love the fanboys

Apple is number 1: congratulations apple, this is amazing

Another company becomes number 1: does it matter?

Cool theory.

But my 401k has mutual funds that have various amounts of shares in both. So either way, as long as both perform well, I don’t care. This increase means I’ll, perhaps even for a moment, see a bump in my own net worth, and inch me towards retiring at a normal age.

Microsoft are doing very well in the Enterprise field, the work they've done with Copilot is pretty awesome. It's definitely going to change how people do work day to day. I wonder if Apple will ever complete with Microsoft productivity suite and Enterprise Cloud services for the everyday business
We have GitHub Copilot turned on at work and let me tell you, the first time I typed a code comment, hit enter, and it offered up 30 lines of code (only 2 of which I had to tweak) I was blown away and thankful that I'm at a point in my career where if AI took my job I could slide into a management role.

Nah everyone said copilot and so on. It just apple are very stingy for ram upgrades and expensive ssd upgrade
