The ~8million xBox Series S/Xs that it has recently sold say otherwise.Microsoft is a software company and doesn't have to worry about supply chain. If the US dollar inflates then they just raise the price of their software / services by a corresponding amount. Apple doesn't have that luxury.
Don’t you mean MAANG? M is for MetaAnd yet, Microsoft will miraculously dodge all antitrust complaints—and no noise will be made—despite having a near monopoly on the personal computer space. They aren’t even in FAANG, but Netflix is?
this is based on all the products these companies make. total worth...
I rather put all my money in Tesla stock.Apple had its best quarter ever, best sales ever, and was at the same time constrained by shortages.
I mean, that is a buying opportunity, Wallstreet is sometimes so dumb.
This is why your posting here and not running a huge multi trillion dollar company.I don't know why MS is worth so much, the only thing they are doing that makes money now is Cloud and by most accounts theirs is the worst.. the only reason most people use them is they get locked into some agreement by MS or devs that insist on .net and just a fanboys. Windows 11 is a flop, they have no real phone or tablet strategy. They do own a monopoly on PC gaming though, but hopefully the Steamdeck will change that! Honestly I wouldn't notice if they just disappeared one day.
No doubt their core business is extremely profitable but they are just not making much waves these days. What other company do you think can command headlines simply by announcing a cleaning cloth? Google is shuttering services left and right, Microsoft's smartphone foray failed, and neither of them really has an ecosystem in the same breath and depth that Apple does.
These companies will be around for many years to come, and I don't wish for any of their early demise. I just don't feel any passion for Microsoft products when I am all in on the Apple ecosystem and my work-issued windows laptop runs like crap. Office works but it just feels so bloated compared to google docs, and I feel like half the time is spent grappling with alignment and formatting issues. In contrast, iWork's has like maybe 10% of the functionality of Office, and that's really the 10% that I will likely ever need, but I will never be able to make it work in a windows dominated work environment. Google has these few core products (chrome, drive, search, maps, YouTube), but everything else feels like it's perpetually in beta stage, and I really only use those for work (use maps, DuckDuckGo and safari on my apple devices).
I have spent close to the last decade teaching from an iPad in the classroom, because windows tablets were crap. Since then, I have gone all in with the apple ecosystem and not looked back since. It ultimately comes down to me using apple products because I want to, and using everything else because I have to.
I also wish Apple would bring more of their services to my country. I would love to apply for an apple credit card, and sign up for Fitness+, and use Siri on my Apple TV.
Actually, Amazon came out first and they were surprised no one jumped in until 7 yrs later. Now it has a huge start that only MS was able to kind of catch up to. They were expecting someone to jump in about 2 yrs later like their other inventions (ie. Alexa). Yeah, I'm surprised by Oracle and IBM (HP as well) for missing this boat. Huge blunder. In fact, a good reason why Amazon is still a very viable company is the enormous success of Amazon Web Services, which runs many of the most popular web sites around the world. That emphasis on cloud computing is why Microsoft is doing very well in recent years. In fact, you really have to wonder if Oracle is kicking themselves for letting Amazon, Microsoft and a few other companies dominate cloud computing.
I just got my first randsomware, my fault for not turning off a football game on edgeIn 12 years of using Microsoft products i never had been attacked with something like that. These things really happen at all?))
I love both companies and I own shares in both. No reason to be a hater on either side anymore.
MSFT has done an amazing job with azure / Cloud. They are a fantastic service provider for business. I use their products every day at work while I have my Mac and iPhone with me as well and they all serve their purposes very well.
I also expect Apple will release some new things in the next several years that will innovate. Augmented reality, VR, apple car, the wearables / health tracking improvements. I love their hardware and their services business for consumers.
I could even see them getting into things like crypto and NFT’s - since they are in payments and have a card already they could easily go there if they want. Maybe not as likely as the other stuff but I wouldn’t sleep on it, anything is possible.
It’ll have some weird bolts, no doubt….Who else thought that would "wipe up" Microsoft this quarter
mainly with that $19.99 polishing cleaning cloth?
which is being torn down by fixit today!
They'd rather bet on an electric car company with one model that has never manufactured a single car whose market cap is now bigger than Ford or GM.Apple had its best quarter ever, best sales ever, and was at the same time constrained by shortages.

Same. 3.11 was my first Windows installation done using floppy disks. Never got into Linux. Been using FreeBSD since 1999 and macOS since 10.x - Windows is optional for my personal use. I read Windows 11 has a dock now instead of the start button, which did not exist in Windows 3.xUsing Windows since, 3.11, not always as my primary OS, but more or less same same.
Sasser was the only one I got on Windows, and on Linux the Sony rootkit.
AmigaOS, OS2, NT, IRIX, Solaris, BeOS, FreeBSD, WinCE, PalmOS, Android, WebOS, MacOS and iOS: none
