Fanboys are a bit annoying...

I have an IPad, and iOS is behind other platforms in terms of overall functions usability, and available APIs for devs. Sorry, it is.. But with that said, "It's all about the apps". And iOS apps themselves are still a bit more plentiful and polished.

Care to provide some examples to go along with your bold statement? Are you a developer that has worked directly with both platforms? It's one thing to assume things based on the rumblings of the uninformed users, and it's another thing to based your statements on facts.

Sorry... But that is just plain awesome. Apple could learn a thing or two from the jamstick ad.

AudioBus in the video is still an iOS app, so it's leveraging iOS capabilities that Apple provided in some form. Furthermore, inter-app audio is an official feature of iOS 7.

I believe the pausing video is due to iOS freeing up the camera for other apps to use. Maybe this is a limitation of iOS and/or the hardware camera on iOS devices... that multiple apps can't access the camera simultaneously. Let's hope that this is being worked on.

You must be really annoying to be behind at a traffic light. If it takes you 6 seconds to actually start moving your car your license (if you're old enough) should be taken away.

If your 3-6 second theory was correct you'd be dead the first time you got on a highway.

Quit making excuses for a the lack of iOS. It's 2013 not 2007.

Advice for the future. Go to the DMV and turn in your license and stay off the roads.

Driving is one task. If you stop at a light and focus on the light, you will move immediately if you wish. Whenever I see someone texting at a stoplight, there is a delay before the fool starts moving, and even when moving, he hasn't necessarily switched fully to the driving task.

Really, the most efficient way I've found using Mac OS X is to CMD+tab or Exposé between everything. Who actually focuses on two windows at once except when comparing things (like .h and .m files in programs)? I hardly use the multitasking features at all except when dragging stuff across windows.

To reply to my own comment... it's also possible that a security policy is dictating that the camera is not active when not directly using an app. Otherwise, any [background] app could begin using the camera without the user knowing, and that would be scary. I'm not sure why Apple hasn't provided an "active" LED like they do on Macs. I like to know when the camera is active.

Advice for the future, don't give advice.;)

Yeah, I started replying to him, forgetting that I was going to stop doing that (having marked him as a trouble-maker aka troll), but decided to go through anyway.

I'm sure it will have this functionallity when the time comes, so it would work very well without lagging or other bugs.
Keep in mind that iOS 7 is going to provide true multi-tasking to apps, in a safe way to avoid compromising performance and battery life.

What is "true multi-tasking"? iOS 7 only changes the app switcher to be more convenient, nothing more.

Soooooo one could wonder what you are doing here on a Apple enthusiasts forum? Did you come here just to flame? Seems like it.

Yes. He, iGrip, and lilo are on my "ignore as spam" list. Not only is he only here to annoy people, but almost nothing he says ever makes sense (as opposed to people here who make smart arguments that make sense but are meant to target certain people), and he talks like a 10-year-old. I don't think he even uses any Apple products, which isn't a good sign for someone on an Apple forum.

One of his baiting methods appears to be taking something that someone says against him and repeating it in other context until it annoys everyone.

i have a windows 8 pro tablet... it is good. But its a device you have to find a use for. Being that I have a iPad, Mac Mini, Windows Laptop and Multiple Windows desktops... I find myself not using it as much. if I didn't have a Windows Laptop, I would use it more.

Okay, let's put this in computer terms. If it takes the Mac OS and iOS 3-6 seconds to switch between apps because apparently your brain and the "artofwar" this is acceptable then why throw thousands of dollars into a computer or Mobile contract when a flip phone and DOS apparently serve the limited needs you have (or are capable of).

My advice back would be to save the money on your iDevices and take some dexterity classes.

I'll stick with a Mobile OS and a Desktop OS that can meet my needs for both entertainment and work functionality. My mind can handle more than one thing at a time. I guess Apple just doesn't get it and in my case iOS Doesn't Deserve to Exist (for me) in it's limited capacity.

I have that choice and it didn't take me 3-6 seconds to realize it.

Dude you really need a personality transplant, I don't give two sh$#% what you want, I never said i couldn't multi-task as I'm assuming ArtofWarefare didn't either.

People like you make me grin, you're all about "freedom, I want to be able to do it my way, when I want" but if someone doesn't agree with your flawed opinions they don't deserve to exist boo bloody hoo, take that big head out of your jacksy before you disappear up it, that took me less than 1 second to think that and I was typing simultaneously, see I can multi-task

WHAT THE FUNK I CAN'T SEE YOU. THIS RUINS EVERYTHING!

Calm down, guy

This made me chuckle. :D

If you really think about it, the human eye can only view one thing at a time. Can you read two books at the same time? Can you read two emails at the same time? Can you type two different documents at the same time? Can you play two different videogames at the same time?

This whole idea of multitasking is overrated, IMO. Trying to get a gadget to do something you can't even do as human makes no sense.

Exactly. The exceptions are when you need stuff in your "RAM" (or the human equivalent) and when you want to drag stuff from one window to another. If I am editing the .h and .m files of an Objective-C program or following written instructions while doing something, I want them side-by-side to look back and forth extremely quickly. If I want to mail someone an image from the web, dragging it instead of copy/paste is convenient. If I'm video chatting with someone, I do NOT need to see him while I look at my spreadsheet... in fact, I couldn't look at both at once.

microsoft should have chosen easy target, against iPad it's not gonna work.
just like iPod vs Zune

He just gets my goat pretending to be a Tech Guru, you're right though he's probably a speccie little ten year old with pimples all over his mug.

Ten-year-old with pimples? Uh, that shouldn't happen so soon :p
Yeah, I think we should just ignore him.

I actually have a windows 8 tablet and i hate using it so whats the point, i do zero multitasking on it and never use skype

What kind of scout doesn't research stats beforehand? My goodness, if the only qualification to scout players is being able to read and call someone else, I should be able to walk into the nearest Team HQ and get a job tomorrow.

I find it weird that businesses in America are allowed to exhibit rivals' products in their own commercials. In my country it is strictly prohibited by law to even mention competitors. You are only allowed to praise your own product and you don't compare it to any specific competitor's offer. In place of an iPad there would be an unidentifiable unlabeled generic tablet.

Just wondering, which country? I don't see what's wrong with mentioning competitors in an ad except for the fact that it can get out of hand sometimes.

This commercial is incredibly misleading...

So you're telling me that I can hi-def video chat AND find what I'm looking for on the web within 31 seconds over an American cellular network.

...sure....

On a more serious note,

I do kinda hope multitasking will show up on iOS soon, thanks Microsoft for reminding Apple! I'm still not buying the surface.

Apple has nipped at the heels of MS for years with their advertising in the mainstream computer market. Turn about is fair play in the market Apple leads, and just like those commercials, the impact will be minimal.

Russia. Because comparative advertising is seen as unfair competition since it is biased and detractive.

If you compare your shampoo with an unlabeled bottle of some "generic shampoo" and state that your shampoo is better than "all the others" you're fine. But you can't say: "don't buy Head&Shoulders, my shampoo is better 100x times and doesn't make your hair fall out".

If we remove the guy with an iPad from this commercial, it will lose the message, because it is clearly produced to be detractive. Without the iPad guy, there's nothing worth mentioning about the other guy's activities left at all.

Stupid Scout

This ad doesn't prove the windows tablet is better than the iPad at all, all the proves is that the scout with the iPad is the worst scout ever.

1. The Widows 8 scout had the info prepared, the iPad scout had to go look for it, thus making it seem like longer, plus the iPad scout was noticeably clumsy about it

2. The iPad scout has no idea on how to use an iPad, you see him swiping at his screen randomly at one point, he could have easily used multitasking to go between the apps

3. Just because you can't see the other person, doesn't mean you can't talk to them and give them the info, there was no need for him to panic because they lost visual.

This ad does not prove that windows tablet is better that the iPad in anyway shape or form. All it proves is that the scout with the windows tablet is a better and smarter scout, while the iPad scout is a moron and if he cant use his equipment properly, he should use it for his job in the first place. All this add proves is that that company need to fire that scout.

Bit of a BS example since any scout would look up that info and know it before even deciding to make the call.

Not to mention I'm pretty sure you switch from Facetime and the audio keeps going just fine (as long as you arent trying to play or record audio) which would make the ad false advertising
No false advertising here, in the advert you can clearly see them continuing the call, i.e. the audio is still going.

Reading all the crybaby Apple-slave comments make me smile.

Whaaaaaah ..

But the Ad is 100% correct and there is no denying it.

Rather than defending the crappy parts of iPad this points out, you people should be acknowledging it and pushing for change.

Thats the problem with Apple freaks, they just want to defend, never evolve. Apple tells them when to evolve.
