and the point was relevant, you can't delete the content of most CDs or DVDs.
Which makes the original point that much more inane: dragging a CD over the trash wouldn't logically delete your files in the first place.

For me, it's always seemed ludricous that on Mac OS dragging a floppy into the "Trash" bin didn't delete the files on the floppy, but instead ejected it. Makes no sense at all.... ;)

Did I wake up this morning in 1998 or something?

Oh and one other guy already pointed out that the trash can turned into an eject button.

Wow, I can't believe Microsoft mentioned Blu-ray in a commercial.

Yeah, when do we get to see the ads where someone is in Best Buy shopping for a game console?

"Let's see, I could get this white one with the green (or red, depending on the minute) lighted circle on the front, or I could get this shiny black one....OOOHHH BLU-RAY!!!"

Apparently an integral part of Microsoft's new marketing campaign is activating its Winbot sleeper cells on every Mac-related website and forum to start spouting their juvenile LAN-boy gibberish.

Winbot sleeper cells...Microsoft botnets!!! That's a scary thought!

:D

well I have news for Microsoft.

I'm a PC. (personal computer)

It's just my operating system is a Mac.

With all due respect the average training provided to any user regardless of ability at most companies is likely to be:
1) desk
2) chair
3) phone
4) computer
5) this is your login
6) login to anything else

I think if you put any very average corporate Windows user in front of a machine with OSX they would struggle just as much, and you could get the same results.

What does that have to do with people having problems with Vista, why does Leopard have a significantly higher percentage?

What these ads don't show...

...is what happens after the cameras stop rolling.

Kid: "I'm a PC, and I'm 11."

Mom: "And I'm not....a PC. I have a 17" MacBook Pro at home. Let the kids use the cheap junk. Wait, what do you mean I can't say that? Fine, you can just edit it out later then. Whatever. Are we done here? Great. Thanks. Goodbye."

Mom and son head back into Best Buy, receipt in hand, for an instant $1500 rebate on a unibody MacBook. :D

Reminds me of the time MS offered a $300 instant rebate at Best Buy just to sign up for their lame Internet service. Problem was, in California it was understood (at the time) that they couldn't legally commit people to a specific amount of subscription time. So people were buying a bunch of stuff, getting their $300 rebate, then calling from the parking lot to cancel their service. There was literally a line of people outside the store waiting to screw MS out of 300 smackers.

Hell yeah, we were all PCs then. BEST MICROSOFT PROMOTION EVER!!!! LOL.

Sadly, MS recognized the error of their ways and retracted the offer a day or two later. I'd have loved to see Ballmer's sweat stains that week. "FLOTATION DEVICES TO THE CONFERENCE ROOM PLEASE!"

i dont know what to say, the fanboy is strong with you? why not drink a little more koolaid. maybe we can all be in your dream world of underpowered overpriced computers?

I really just lol'd at the ignorance of this post.

sorry but bestbuy only carries the low end consumer garbage
consumer level stuff is already garbage, but bestbuy carries the WORST of it.

name 1 thing at bestbuy and ill beat it with a better product for cheaper.

notice none of the "gaming" laptops at bestbuy have dual HDDs in raid 0 and dual video cards in SLI? because they are not high end

notice none of the desktops have GTX285s or GTX295s? why? they are all low grade sh*t

speakers? bose? please what a waste of my time, i would take energy over bose and energy is a cheap canadian brand. notice they dont carry wilson audio, genesis stuff? why? LOW END CRAP is only being sold.

usb flash drives? do they have anything over 200x? no?

cameras? no good DSLR? useless

MONSTER CABLE! OMG! best stuff ever! YAY! ALL AVALIBLE at best buy!

EDIT: actaully, what ive noticed is only ignorant people go to best buy becuase they dont know of any other place that exists for electronics. bestbuy has the worst products for the highest prices, but people arent smart enough to hop onto froogle and type in what they want.

I'd like to catch whoever wrote Conficker so I can collect Microsoft's $250K reward!!! Can you say Mac Pro/Xserve render farm with a heaping helping of cinema displays and Wacom Cintiq tablets? Oh yeah and throw in an Airport Extreme and a couple of MacBook Pros. :D

I will say that best buy is a fantastic place to buy televisions when you can find 12% off coupons online. And online at least, BB has Canon dslr's which I'm pretty sure are good, though I'm no photographer. And yes, Monster Cable is BS.

maybe we can all be in your dream world of underpowered overpriced computers?

But by all your arguments on this thread, aren't Sony Vaios "underpowered overpriced computers?"

Why yes. Yes they are.

Have some more kool-aid.

Sounds like the perfect place for someone looking for a Windows machine then.

So...what's the problem exactly?

and no... it does not make perfect sense to hit 'start' to initiate the task of shutting down. which vista forum did you get this off of?

Obviously none, since Vista does not have a "start" menu.

It was a deliberate choice on my part to talk about "floppies" and "Mac OS" - since the "start menu" argument is so outdated.
