Seems build numbers are way behind, production still says osx-arm64 though? A bit confused as to which build I should try and grab!
I don't see a production build for osx-arm64. Theoretically, the most stable version from the available options for osx-arm64 is the 'Preview' build unless now MS will post a 'Production' version in light of this press release

They've had M1 builds for months.. just visit this and grab whichever "release" you're looking for.

(for some stupid reason, the one @ microsoft.com is still Intel).

Just downloaded this version. It STILL requires Rosetta, there is one file that is not Apple Silicon optimized. I don't have Rosetta on my new MacBook Pro M1, and this version of teams will not install without it. This is kinda ridiculous...

Yeah.. something to do with the Audio driver. Look, I'll take a partially native build over not.. but come on MS. It's been almost two years since the M1's launched.

Thank you! It worked!

WOW noticeably faster. lol. Thank you!

I plan on starting a business and using Microsoft 365 for everything (including Teams). I've done a bit of searching, and I'd be interested in hearing why Slack is better than Teams.

Thanks all. Strangely link wouldn't work in Safari, so had to download using Chrome but now running build 1.5.00.21558 natively, apart from the audio driver...cheers all.

Companies use Teams because it comes along with Office. No one would ever compare Teams against Slack and decide to use Teams.
At my old job we mainly used Teams, but also had Slack, WhatsApp, and one other program that combines multiple messaging services because different teams wanted to use different apps.

It was a tech software company but I worked in the consumer facing division and it took days to receive a reply from other teams. All of management were recent graduates so wouldn't listen to anyone because they just got their degree so of course they knew best

Is this an actual full replatforming?

MS teams for windows still looks like a ****** electron app using a gig of memory.
Electron was fine when you wanted to cut corners (read hire as less developers as possible to make you an app), and increased resource requirement seemed like an acceptable trade off for many.

I hope Tauri will get the attention it deserves. It is obvious that convenience of writing apps with HTML+CSS+JS is so convenient for many, so it’s here to stay. If it’s here to stay, let’s make it as efficient as possible.
