Pfft. Typical Microsoft.

I was running

Microsoft Teams Version 1.4.00.8872. It was last updated on 07.04.2021.

I downloaded the latest from microsoft.com/teams, and now have

Microsoft Teams Version 1.4.00.7175. It was last updated on 07.04.2021.

Of course, there is no way to update within the client
It's time that Microsoft integrated TEAMS Updates into Microsoft AutoUpdate !

It notes to me:
Microsoft Teams Version 1.4.00.8872. It was last updated on 13.03.2021.

Hey Microsoft, can you please make up your mind, when a Version had its Release Date?

But... does anyone have that feature? I have lastest version 1.4.00.8872, restarted, but nothing. I don't see the switch when sharing a file...

There is a check for updates option within the client.

Does it work? No clue! :)
I use Teams on Mac and did the client side update, it didn’t give the option for it when sharing screen/file anywhere.
I had to disable GPU acceleration, read receipts, etc things because they were causing “deccelartion”, top right icons jumping all the time time and a memory leak that would hang the app in about an hour of being idle. Maybe I need to check some settings back again although I don’t remember any of them being “audio” related.

System audio sharing on all these third-party apps and we still can't record system audio with Quicktime smh
I think it’s the whole Mac system, I don’t get it, I have tried so many audio channeling drivers, IShowUCapture, BlackHole2ch and 16ch and it’s overly complicated.
I have not been able for the love of anything remotely user experience friendly been able to capture both audio and system sound with the builtin screen capture or any other software that doesn’t have that builtin support... via the Audio MIDI interface also tried having an aggregate mic + system recording yet it adds a bunch of channels, didn’t work.

During the covid incident, my wife was occasionally coerced into using Teams® by her employer. It promotes a certain behaviour that creates division and mistrust amongst colleagues. Why would Laurence G. be so excited about a meeting? What has gone wrong in his life? How can he be saved? Erika's demanding tone is saddening.

Hahaha, this picture hits like a thousand truths to be honest.
I like and will try to keep working from home forever if I can... but by far, BY FAR the most hateful thing (see I don’t use “dislike” nor “annoying”) is when I can’t do actual work and get entangled in chats and meetings about the next meetings.

I continue to fight to keep this garbage out of my organization. We use Webex Teams which does everything MS teams does and integrates with our telephone seemlessly for a third of the cost.

I wish I could win the battle to move us off windows pc to linux. Sadly as a systems architect I lose that battle.

If you’re already in the MS ecosystem then Teams is a no brainer you pay for it based on your MS subscription, so no additional cost. WebEx Teams is great if you have a Cisco phone system, even though it’s extra. If not then it’s a waste of $ to buy it on top of something else.

if it were up to me, my company would all use Chromebooks, Google Docs, and whatever they use for chats/video. If it lacked then use Slack and call it a day. Unfortunately every org is different and people are set in their ways.

Hello!

I just updated to Big Sur 11.3. Now Teams is stuck displaying just an empty window.

I already tried the following:
- remove all files in ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Teams
- remove the MS Teams identity cache in Keychain Access

After inserting my credentials the App is stuck in said empty Window.

Anyone else experience this? Any ideas? Thank you!

Its very strange. After update to 11.3, it started once. I could not start a meeting though - the "Meet" button in the team just was not present. I quit Teams and tried to start over to no avail. Empty white window ever since

Edit: I logged in using the MS Edge browser. The page displays an error message: "This page isn't working at the moment" (HTTP Error 401). I hope this is just a temporary issue

Edit II: Indeed, Teams is up and working again. Looks like a temporary service outage on Microsofts part

Do you have that sound sharing button when sharing a file?

Just as an update... I have hit that 'check for update' button, seems like it has updated a couple of times since this article came out yet no sign of any sound sharing button when the sharing a screen dialog is opened.

Same here… Therefore, the availability announcement is misleading advertising 😂

Anyone has any news about the misterious toogle button for sound sharing?
Toggle has just appeared for me after updating to: 1.4.00.11161. Was excited until I realised that the toggle is greyed out and I can't turn it on. Maybe I'm missing the new audio driver, but no idea where to get it from. Teams is the most unuser friendly software I've ever used.

That's so weird... I have the same version but no toogle at all 😂 this is crazy

No, it works!
How strange, mine is still greyed out - but the share screen drawer has moved position to the top left instead of the bottom of the screen. How can things change without the version number changing? This really is creepy software

Funny, my share screen drawer is exactly the same as before, the old one. So If we combine my features with yours, we'll get a complete updated Teams 😂

Welcome to the cloud, where creepy things appear through the little fluffy clouds. They catch the colours everywhere. Great excuse for me to slip in a reference to “Little Fluffy Clouds” by The Orb.

Watch out for this bug. A reply within the notification spams...

🤣
