I've had me 2013 Air for about 2 weeks now. I will admit that it had trouble connecting in the beginning but after I installed all the updates, I haven't had any problem since.

I'm on my 2nd replacement and still have the Wi-Fi issue. Probably going to get a 3rd replacement before I end up getting a refund

I got mine when they first came out and just bought another one about a month ago. Both work fine for WiFi; no issues at all.

I guess I better buy a lottery ticket. :p

So all of this was just about you justifying getting yourself a chromebook, wasn't it?

good for you!

I am going to order a chromebook now...I know it will not even come close and there is a learning curve to the "cloud" os environment, but if I can live with it its a $900 + savings and less aggravation..

Good luck with the Chrbook and hopefully will not have wifi issues

No problems at all with my mid 2013 air.

I have been through the mill with my 3 mid-2013 macbrick air 13" haswells over the wi-fi dropping issue. Apple has known about this for months and continues to sell them as if nothing is wrong. I have worked through all levels of support, got 3 replacements, did all the approved patches, upgrades, reconfigs, to no avail. At the official Apple support forum there are over 140,000 page views on the thread for this issue. No one is getting any satisfaction. Its time to get their attention. I am ready to start a class action suit I might even go further and try a criminal fraud action because hey know of this issue, can`t fix it and are continuing to sell it. Its fraud, because you cannot use it for its intended purpose, and their support is not effective. Anyone similarly affected who is getting the runaround should post here. We need to get the word out. I am tired of fighting with this and want Apples ass on a platter.

Did you check in console to see any airport related errors? I was recently having issues with the wifi on both my macs with tons of dropout errors in console. One of the macs would drop the internet connection entirely unless i cycled wifi on and off and the other that would have intermittent internet issues causing speeds to fluctuate.

I wasn't about to sell my 2 macs so picked up an airport express instead (knowing I can return it if it doesn't solve the problem) and it's been working without issues at all. Dunno if it's a compatibility problem with the d-link router I had or whether I'm simply benefitting from avoiding the overly congested 2.4ghz frequency at my location by going to 5ghz but no more issues and no more console errors.

What's the option for class action for those of us who think this is bogus, have no issues, and are generally tired of these bs law suits?

You keep buying all the Apple stuff you can afford... :apple:

Don't forget to save up for your future wife who will love diamonds and sports cars, and find it embarrassing to carry last year's LV purse that you bought for her birthday.

And they think you're selfish for buying a $1500 laptop, when their bags cost twice as much.

LIFE bro. LIFE.

me and macbook against the world...:apple:

Yes, because I joined yesterday to post about WiFi issues that means I'm clearly a fraud. The new MBA's were released just a couple months ago what do you expect? Good for you if your new MBA works, but don't be so brash and dismissive when people desperately come to this forum for help about flawed Apple products. I've posted in the Apple support community but have had my post deleted for reasons that are beyond me. I can't believe how patently inconsiderate you folks are in this place. It's likely that you are being presumptuous and think I'm a Windows fanboy attempting to trash Apple, but I assure you this is far from being the case. I've owned a number of Apple computers since 2004 and have never had problems at all. I know this is asking much of someone on the internet, but please, have some manners.

Haven't heard anyone come asking for help. I've heard people barking about nonsense law suits and "flawed apple products". There is a HUGE difference.

I kind of skimmed through this topic, and forgive me if it's been asked, but is it possible that this is an issue with your own router? If you're already sure it's not, ok. You have two choices... you obviously like the MBA or you wouldn't be complaining about this.

You can keep sending it back until you get one that works, or buy a Pro, if you think it will resolve your issues. Or simply, just get your money back. The Wifi issue has been well noted right from the get-go since these machines came out in June, so that's probably why that topic garnered that much interest. But honestly, I have yet to have seen many people complain about this problem, let alone someone have the issues with three different MacBook Airs, which is why I asked about the router. It sounds like another issue... and no, I'm not being an Apple "fanboy", I'm just trying to be logical. I just bought a 13" for my wife and an 11" for myself of the 2013's, and have had zero problems. Either you have horrible, horrible luck, or there is something else going on....

I have one 2010 iMac, one 2012 rMBP, and two iPads connected with no problems so it definitely is not an issue with my router, but thank you for that.

This is the only thread that fits such a description. Every other thread mentioning issues with Wi-Fi connectivity have indeed been genuine requests for help. Flawed Apple products *do* exist.

I've had mine since June and not really noticed any issues. But I feel for the OP. If I bought an expensive product and it didn't do what it says on the tin, I'd be hopping mad, too. And it's fair to say his is not an isolated case.

It figures!

No problem whatsoever with mine either!

Well, let's be honest here..if you just bought one in August or late July, you would probably look for a forum like this one to join and complain/look for help in August.

I got my mid-2013 MBA this week, first Mac ever, if I would've had these wi-fi issues I would've been in the same boat. Thankfully, no problems with mine..I'm basically in love with an inanimate object at the present.

OP, what are the specs on the 3 you had problems with?

Had mine since the day 1 announcement and no wi-fi issues here, besides the already known one that's apparently related to the way networking is built into OSX.

Yes! Congratulations! You caught us! We're just a bunch of liars trying to dissuade the masses from buying Apple trash.

You guys are unbelievable. Are you truly this oblivious? At any rate, this forum has at least convinced me that the Wi-Fi issue is not as widespread as I had initially thought so I'm hopeful.

go to console and type:

ping -c 10 [router ip]
(for example router ip: 192.168.0.1)

initially I got results of over 40+ ms

Applied a fix, and now I'm at 1 ms
