You are comparing an old Dell to a new 2022 MBA. The new 2022 Dells are lighter and have slim bezels with no notchs.
interior2-2.jpg
of course..still the top bezels is kind of thick for their crapy 720p at 30 fps HD RGB camera, dual-array microphones
the Mba feels more premium, more sturdy, dell is keeping 720p and the so called "touchbar" while Apple is moving away
I have the 12th Core™ i5-1240P with 13.4", 3.5K 3456x2160, 60Hz, OLED
The display feel better, its in between the mini-led from the pro models and the m2 Mba, but this dell gets hot pretty easy...and i chose the base cpu...but still. If you are stuck/need windows is an good if not the top tier ultrabook windows laptop...but if you dont need windows...the M2 Mba is the better device (minus the display), colder, 3x battery life (maybe because the display), faster, premium, even the keyboard is better because of the space between the keys, trackpad still better on the mac but Dell came along, better sound on the Mba (on dell is like keeping a pillow on the speakers..
Apple is going with headphone jack and even further with advanced support for high-impedance headphones while dell is getting rid of for no reason
When i will have the time and both laptops near me i will take some shots to feel the vertical display difference between the two, if you dont have them side by side you cant tell

I have a black Lenovo carbon X1 for work that shows prints like the midnight. It’s really no big deal.

I think the midnight looks great.

I love the look of the Midnight colour, but the fingerprints would push me to Starlight or silver. I had a couple of Razer Blades which had similar fingerprint issues and although I eventually gave up and just accepted it, it definitely made me wary of dark metallic laptops.

I agree with some comments that the design is looking a bit basic. Absent the interesting colour, notch and Apple logo it's a pretty plain jane machine. Hardly a deal breaker (and the Air wedge had over the years also becoming a bit generic - my work HP X360 is awfully similar to the old Air design), but I can see why the keyboard deck was coloured black in the Pro models to add distinctiveness and why Apple juiced the Air's colour options.

Top Notch solves all my notch issues on the 14”. May not be as effective on the Air’s screen but for sure bringing it over!

Where are the speakers on this device? In looking at the photos, it doesn't look like there are speakers on the right and left of the keyboard...
