A shame, I hope they will have enough room on the 15" version to keep the upward firing speakers. Hearing mixed reviews on the audio quality, some saying as good as ever, some saying sounds worse than the 14/16" (to be expected tbh even just given the smaller size to work with) but some saying doesn't even sound as good as the M1 Air/M1 Pro (in which case I assume the indirect route the sound needs to take to escape the chassis is the culprit?).
I would say very trebly v the 14" no bass

I have both Macs side by side on my desk and I can definitively state that the new M2 produces better sound than my M1.

Did you take a look at Managing Data on your Mac to see what is taking up the space? Did you do a clean install or migrate?
clean, just signed into iCloud, it's just system data 28gb but doesn't say what.

This video at 3:38 shows scuffing around the port of the midnight after he plugged in his monitor once. Another thing to consider if that bothers you. Personally it’s a non issue for me.

For the record I like my 8/512 24" iMac better than this Air 2 8/256GB. I said the opposite when I had the 14" 16/1TB.
Even started a thread about it lol.

[*]Keyboard feels great to type on, and the non-wedge shape angle is a non issue. It feels more tactile than the M1 keyboard. Aren’t they the same?

No. The M1 has the scissor-switch keyboard unlike the butterfly ones found in MacBooks from 2015-2019, however it's still similar in some ways to those previous ones (but much more reliable).

The M2 Air has the new Magic Keyboard found on the M1 Pro/Max 14" and 16" MacBook Pros. It's a really great keyboard.

Hopefully, a lot less likely to get dust in the crack of the keys. Since this is a new MBA design, I decided to get the yearly care for $80 just in case there ends up being a problem of some kind.

I’m so thankful for this thread and the pics. The Midnight color looks like all windows laptops and that’s not a good thing. Went to my local store today as well to confirm. Left with a 14” Macbook Pro. Thanks again!
That doesn't make sense, especially when the M2 is offered in other colors.

I am so torn... I have a Midnight on order (love the look of it) but I hate finger prints. I have a Space Gray that I wipe fingers print off. I have looked at Silver online but it's so just Silver.

Here's my pic.... ;)

The OCD in me has the launchpad layouts the same. Also, the dock, mail folders, Finder Side bar and Menu bar

I'd rather spend a few minutes up front setting them up and never have to waste time looking for something

its a curse.... and a blessing

Does anyone who bought one of these also own one of the old Black MacBooks from the early Intel days? Would be really cool to see the two side-by-side.
