Might not go to work Friday

You apparently lack self-control and narcissism and telling us about your issues is a waste of MacRumors thread space and our time.
 
I would love to stay home, but I'm out of vacation and currently on 50+ hours at work. I have 4 kids though and a nanny, so she will sign for the phones and they will be waiting when I get home. Then I prefer to actually enjoy the unboxing and appreciation of the device the first time, so I'll wait until 9 when I have all the kids in bed. I get irritable when I'm trying to look at something for the first time and kids are playing 2 million questions.
 
Both myself and the girlfriend will be off that day, but we have a flight on the 19th, so our window of opportunity is between 9am to 1.30pm for the delivery (if the delivery will even happen that day for either phone).

If they come in time, will quickly unbox and throw in the bag. Can charge it in the rental car after we land :D

I work from home, so I'll still work on Friday... in between looking up at the front window every 5 seconds to see if the UPS truck is pulling up yet.

I'll play with it for an hour, run some tests, and then let it restore from backup for the rest of the day which will take a while. Then on saturday i'm shooting the mizzou game again. You on the other hand....well, you know what they say about people on the internet. I guess kindness is a commodity these days.
 
I'm lucky in that I don't have any classes on Friday for now. If student teaching started at the beginning of the semester I would have been out of luck. But now I get to wait in front of the window like a crazy person and freak out the UPS guy when he gets here. Fun times...
 
I thought about taking Friday off, but then quickly thought back to iPhone 5 launch day, where UPS didn't deliver until 8:30pm. Not gonna waste a vacation day for that to happen again. Someone will be at the house anyway.
 
I'm taking the day off. I didn't get a chance to preorder the 6 Plus so I'll be standing in line at Best Buy Friday morning. If I don't take the day off I won't get one for like... Six weeks and the trade-in value for my iPhone 5 will be drastically lower than $225.

My dilemma is what time do I show up? I don't want to go too early and feel like an idiot nor too late and miss out... Better safe than sorry I guess.
 
Since I purchased mine at full price I was able to have it shipped to work. UPS usually stops by early in the day, I hope that this is the case on Friday. :apple:

i work from 4 to 12 am , so i dont think i have to call off ,,, i prepare to start 6 am to get apple store ,,,,,,,

i have a friend who work at mall told me , not too many people around their last years iphone 5 launch ,,,,,

For those getting it delivered at work, what are the chances you'll be able to actually get work done when it's delivered? Haha :D
