If you plan on running two servers, you may have issues opening the ports to both. A way to circumvent this is to use a different port.

yeah ik... like I said, it would need a little tweaking, and I would need to find a version of Minecraft 1.5.2 for bukkit. I doubt I have an archive still on my backup drive attached to my macbook. Then I would need to find (and host) a working version of the old Minecraft Launcher.

I have a copy of the PowerPC compatible launcher and I believe Gavin may have the files for 1.5.2!

Or ask your good ol' buddy Keaton to host it! Honestly, I really don't care as long as we have a good MC server up.

I have two VERY good friends who would like to join, one uses multiple PowerPC/68k (iMac G4, Mac Mini G4, Centris 650). He is also the one who gave me the iBook and G4 Cube. Another doesn't have the money/time/resources to invest in PPC, but is a very good, level headed guy. They both have Skypes. Its up to you guys if you want to allow them to join. Second point, are we going to whitelist? Third, I think it would be a good idea for us to use Spigot.

1. The first guy is allowed in, and the second guy could always play on my server once its open, as well as the rest of you. 2. Yes, we are going to whitelist to make sure only PPC owners can play. 3. I have and love spigot, so yes, we can use it.

The files and the launcher are all from me, gavin is making the guide :D

I think either Keaton or I will be hosting everything, if everyone is fine with that. So if we are, just PM the files.

----------

Should I start a new thread for this and just leave this thread for Gavin to make the guide for PM G4 MDD?

Sweet! Have you ever thought about using mcmyadmin or MineOS? Very good for hosting servers. Also, take a look at Docker, it provides virtualization and can be run on OS X if needed.

Thats a really neat idea, it would also be cool to have an online club for us, maybe sometime in the future. My network setup is a bit zany. I have a router, a switch, and two main machines (Mac Pro and Gaming PC) and two servers (My rock solid hackintosh with OS X server and a Linux one for serving up my Minecraft server, deluge, Plex, etc). Its quite a sight to see.

Nice, a Hackintosh server :) We have a 2009 Mac Mini server. Aside from backups, it runs my bro's MC server. We have a big ethernet switch with TONS of ethernet cables going into the wall. In fact, our switch doesn't have enough ports for all of them, which is annoying. We have one of those classic plywood boards screwed into the wall, as a way to mount all the equipment. I'll take a picture of the thing later, and I guess start the thread. Our network is not in a good place, as the room it's in is the mechanical room. It's constantly stuffy and like 85+ degrees in there, which is not good for the Mac Mini and routers. Putting ethernet in our house was pretty advanced for the time, I think, since we started building it in 2001. Most places have to be retro-fitted. Nobody could have predicted USB ports on the walls though xD (device-charging)

Im running MineOS for 9430Craft and BungeeCord!

Who do we need to send files to, Keaton or Gamer?

Lol it's up to everyone else, I don't mind if I get them or if Keaton does. (Ps, incase you didn't know, my name is Nicholas/Nick, not that I mind being referred as Gamer/Gamer9430, since it is my internet name)

I do not post using first names unless the person makes it obvious in their username or gave me permission as a way to protect their privacy. Perhaps we can use Google Drive or some service like that to host the necessary files. Does 1.5.2 connect to Minecraft.net anymore?

Also, for people who game on a PC, I will have a Just Cause 2 server up on play.keatonburleson.com.

Ah ok and I guess that would work. I'm going to step out of hosting because I couldn't obtain another computer and running 2 spigot servers on the same computer would have extremely low performance. So, Keaton, you are now the official host of the MacRumors PowerPC Mac Minecraft Server (that's a mouthful, which brings me to my next point...). Now we need an official, and shorter, name for our server.

Oh and on a side note, I just updated my server to spigot 1.8!

Ok I have one problem.
If you login there is my email in there but not my password.
Do you guys think there is a way to get my password?

Nice, nice, this sounds pretty cool! I bet nobody has ever made a PowerPC-owners-only server before. :) I'd like to be an admin if I can, as I have explained to Keaton.

I'm pretty cool with that. I have the server up on play.keatonburleson.com. There is no whitelist for now, just so I can get player's names. I can regenerate the world if you guys want, its a 1.7 world. Also, we are running 1.5.1, but 1.5.2 should be able to connect.

I could send you the Files just now, but I need to make sure no one can get my password. When you login there is my email adress which i dont really care and the password thing is blank, but idk if there are ways to get it

I went on your server from my macbook and successfully transferred everything from my Mac to the PM G5, but the oldest version of minecraft I have is 1.5.2 and it won't let me play with 1.5.2

the launcher from the minecraft.net doesnt work btw. You need exactly the old ones released for powerpc

I can (and will) upload the 1.5.1 jar.

Edit: here

Sucks that I cannot find a Spigot for 1.5.2.
