Every security implementation will have limitations. TouchID doesn't work with most gloves either. Just as face ID wouldn't work under a helmet.

Yes, but in order to use the touchscreen one will have to take off the gloves anyways, so it's not that much of an issue.

Of course not, (though you’d get the better end of the deal since my house is tiny), but that’s still not what “officially” means.
