We just got the the new iPad pros (they are really really cool.) I’m just curious what everyone else thinks... **will Apple will do an update this September-October or will they wait for the ten-year anniversary in January or April of next year?

I love having both the 11” and 12,9” but I’m truly hoping no new iPads until 2020... I’m too weak to fight the temptation of getting the newer versions. .lol[

Ten-year anniversary maybe?

If they do, I believe the biggest change will be strengthened bodies to limit the bending issue.
That too.

Seriously people the only way it won't bend is if it is magnesium, newly developed steel, or industry grade mixed titanium... even 7000 series aluminum will bend and warp still.

With the new iPads at 5.86mm THEY will bend easily because... science. lol

I don’t think we will see any new pros until march 2020 personally.

And we should not see it also ! whats the Rush ? Making a Hasty, Uncooked Product just to compulsorily dish out iPad every year ! is there any compulsion ? lol !! whats the rush ?

Has the President declared State Emergency ??

There is no rush

iPads certainly don’t need to be upgraded every year. Hell every 2 years is fine

Curious on how you're so sure it will be an update to the new Pros. Apple slowed down on yearly upgrades for them I thought.
How can I be so sure? I've got a "spidey-sense" about it. ;) When most were claiming back in Jan/Feb 2018 that a new Mini was coming in March 2018, I said that it most likely wasn't going to happen... when the 2018 iPad was released in March 2018, rumors then shifted to June 2018. At that point I said that no new Mini would be announced in 2018 and that it would be March 2019 at the earliest. June '18 came and went, no new Mini. Rumors then shifted to Nov '18. I warned those who were waiting until Nov for a new mini that their wait would be in vain.

I'm not seeing a slow down in new iPad models.

09/2015 - Mini 4
11/2015 - . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 12.9 Pro (1G)

03/2016 - . . . . . . . . . . . 9.7 Pro
09/2016 - . . . . Air 2 (re)
03/2017 - . . . . 9.7 (2017)
06/2017 - . . . . . . . . . . . 10.5 Pro. . 12.9 Pro (2G)
03/2018 - . . . . 9.7 (2018)
11/2018 - . . . . . . . . . . . 11 Pro. . . 12.9 Pro (3G)
03/2019 - Mini 5. Air 3 (10.5)

Having said that, people shouldn't make a purchase decision based on what I say. I'm just explaining why I believe what I believe. :D

When do you think we will see new MacBook Pro’s ;)

I think even if we do see new iPad Pro’s at the end of this year, they will be minor spec bumps. Apple released a major design change in the last iPad Pro update.

Hmm, I hope you’re right so you can enjoy an iPad Pro that hopefully will fit your expectations.
I just don’t know if I see Apple doing an upgrade so soon this fall with the 10-year anniversary on April 4th 2020. What would they celebrate in April then if they did the upgrades 6 months early in October?
But let’s say you’re right, I see MAYBE Apple giving 6GB RAM, lower prices by $50, faster processor, and maybe true HDR or 120hz refresh rate with videos (the last one is very iffy.) Looking at my 11” and 12.9” in front of me, they are essentially perfect *knock on wood they don’t suddenly break on me. lol.
I do know if they release an iPad and it’s not a huge upgrade, i’ll still have a hard time NOT upgrading. Back when I first got the iPad (2010) I wanted a newer iPad for the speed and screen, I was planning to save for the iPad 3, but just never had the opportunity, and I was waiting until they had an all screen no home button iPad. My favorite number is 3 and so I didn’t want to play the upgrade game for a couple years and just get the 3rd gen and use it until I wanted more... but the 3 was full of errors and I luckily had no money to get it... but then I waited for the Air 3 and it didn’t come out until 4 years later... and came with an outdated look and sucky RAM, speakers, screen quality, and other hardware specs that were just not up to par, except the processor. When the iPad Pro 3 came out I was like “okay, that’s the golden goose, that’s the iPad of my dreams.”

Even now though, hearing of a possible upgrade again I start to question if I should return the 11” since it’s still within return policy. Then sell the 12.9” in July or August to get the best return... but logic comes in and says, “why are you stressing about this now, the processor will be 5% faster maybe, and MAYBE they’ll throw in some extra RAM, but what can they do to truly make the still young 3rd gen iPP ‘inadequate?’” lol

My guess is early 2020 for new iPad Pros, with added reinforcement inside the aluminum shell to reduce bending, like what they did with the iPhone 6s Plus vs the 6 Plus. They will have 6 GB RAM across the board, aside from possibly an 8 GB top-of-the-line model. No more 4 GB models.

Yeah they probably will do 6GB RAM or (8GB for the anniversary edition.) Then again how many times has Apple just slipped by without adding RAM?
Again reinforced iPads will bend a bit less, but you still have a 12”-14” + long slab of super thin aluminum and glass, they will still have warping bend issues. My 6 never had a bend problem and the newer 6 and then 6S were not at all immune to bending. They just weren’t bent out of the box as much or from being in pockets. The other thing to take into account is that it’s a tiny device compared to one that is large enough than any amount of force on one side can bend it. I can’t think of Apple doing any kind of Magnesium or Steel iPad Pro, or something other than 7000 series aluminum (and 7000 aluminum isn’t like a 3x stronger material, it’s more rigid, but not invulnerable.)
