is it just me or the mini 4 draining 1% per minute? Wtf this is ridiculous.

I don't have a screen shot at the moment, but I can tell you that I typically get 12-13 hours of usage time along with about 2 days of standby on a single charge. My usage includes mostly web surfing, social media, some YouTube and Netflix, email, and sometimes taking and looking at pictures. No gaming.

Wow that's impressive. Mines is nowhere near that... Thinking if I got a crappy one.

How long have you had it? Sometimes it takes a few battery cycles for everything to settle in. When a device is new, there's often a lot of set up and optimizing going on in the background for a little while. I'd also suggest turning off "background app refresh", and checking the battery under settings to see what apps are draining the most power.

I just got it yesterday and it was weird because when I turned it on it was 100% off the box. I also noticed that the battery was draining even though I had it connected to the PC. It normally charges up not loose charge when I had it connected to iTunes. Weird. Well I've not power cycled it yet all the way to zero so I'll do that and keep checking how the battery life works.

I'm going through my first full cycle after the initial setup. Right now I have 5 hours of usage and 49 hours of standby with 65% left. Mostly safari and splashtop as the battery killers.

This is my first cycle too... I have 2.25 hours for 20% and 11hr standby... Am I being paranoid or does this battery life sucks?

If it went from 100% to 20% in 2.5 hours then yes, that's awful. But as I said, the first discharge or even the first two can be misleading. What apps are using the most power?

No I meant it went from 100% to 80% which is 20% usage for 2.5 hours. Safari is using 77%

Seems like a defective unit, if you got it yesterday, bring it to Apple and let them replace it.
I meant 20% of usage for 2.5 hours so if my math is correct that's 12.5 hours of use.

Remember that Apple says about 10 hours of use per charge, so if you're getting that much or more, there's no need to worry. :)

Really??? I'm literally watching my battery drop right in front of me.

But if you say it's used just 20% in 2.5 hours (150 minutes) of use, it's clearly not dropping at a percent per minute like you said. You're probably just worrying too much and it's not dropping as fast as you think.

23% 2hours 38mins right now. I don't know how... But I'm watching the percentage drop as I type and surf right now.

I don't worry about battery life for the first few cycles. It will/ should get better

It would probably be better for your peace of mind if you turned off battery percentage and just looked at the final run time when it dies. It sounds to me like you will get the expected 10+ hours out of it, but the time will seem shorter the more you worry about it.

I don't want to do that. I've never turned it off on my end so why change? The battery life should act just right without these tinkering around in the settings.
