If you can't download the drivers of the net, you need to find someone with a desktop computer with a tray loading CD drive.

Ask them to copy the drivers to a CD-R or a memory stick.

1. Hold MacBook on it's side and shake. On my friend's MacBook the mini disk came out easily

Just dont have the mbp turned on while doing this, spinning harddrive + shaking = bad

For anyone reading this thread as I did in the same situation.

I'd highly recommend taking into an apple store. They sorted it out so quickly and for free. It took a couple of days to get an appointment but once there it was so simple.

Before that I tried lots of methods I read about online. Inserting other CD's, cards, card with sticky sided cellotape, putting it upside down, lots of turning it on and off etc. Even thought about tweezers etc. Wasted loads of time with no success and also was very worried that my not successful, getting more and more frustrated, efforts had done it more damage.

I took it into the shop. They got it out in 2 mins. No charge. No damage done.

I just got a mini disk stuck in my Mac Book Pro Laptop. I applied a piece of double sided Scotch Tape to half the length of a flat toothpick, inserted it into the CD Rom opening just enough to be able to press down on top of the CD and was able to pull it out.

1. Hold MacBook on it's side and shake. On my friend's MacBook the mini disk came out easily this way.

2. Insert a thin card (e.g. business card) with tape on it (sticky side out, of course). Fish the disk out. See http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6217947&tstart=0 for success stories using this method.

I wonder why apple don't support mini CD/DVD? Just got some old gamecube games out to play on my wii, and that takes the mini-DVDs just fine in its slot drive

Probably the reason why it works on the Wii is that it was built to be backwards compatible. It also has springs to keep the disc in place if I remember rightly.
