or a hardware issue, if apple haven't wired the soundcard output to the port, I don't think anyone actually knows?
Unless the cables are missing wires, then they would support audio.[...]EDIT: Mistake. Mini DispayPort does, current cables don't allow it. So not really a software issue, more of a cable issue?
No one (other than Apple) knows if they have the ability to route audio through the mini-DisplayPort. It's possible that it could be done with a firmware update. Or it's possible that only a hardware update would allow it.or a hardware issue, if apple haven't wired the soundcard output to the port, I don't think anyone actually knows?
Seems like the easiest way to test it. I would be willing to bet that audio will not work.I guess when Monoprice releases the Mini Diplay to HDMI adapter on 3/30 we will know for sure. This would make life much easier for when I want to hook it up to my TV.
The new Apple LED Cinema displays have speakers. Audio is carried through the mini display port to these speakers, I believe. (Don't have one to test it out).
I'm using the Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter then a DVI to HDMI cable.
Mini DisplayPort carries audio. The cables that exist also carry audio.
Apple. Hasn't. Turned. It. On. In. The. OS. Yet.
Why do you NOW believe it's a mistake? DANGGUMMIT!!!!!! DOES ANYONE KNOW POSITIVELY??????? DAMN YOU APPLE FOR CONFUSING THE **** OUT OF EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![]()
