The question I have about the updated 12.9” iPad Pro, is how much they’ve improved battery life. Apple is going to get ~$1,300.00 of my money, for either the latest iPad Pro or an M1 MBA. I’m ready to pass my 2018 iPP on to one of my kids or my mother-in-law, as it just can’t get me through a day on battery.
I’m also hoping for some increased battery. That was always a major plus with the iPad over the Mac but M1 definitely removed that advantage

Two things:

I am excited for the Qualcomm modems to return for the cellular version. Even the new iPad Air cellular still had intel.

I am very doubtful apple would give a feature only to the bigger model, ram and storage sure, a big feature like mini LED, nah. I can't recall apple having a specific tech/feature of the same line up only to the bigger model.

Even the iPhone Pros they said only the max would have mmwave 5G yet the whole iphone lineup has mmwave.

Apart from the other hopefully obvious hardware improvements, including what’s already rumoured and/or likely, my two main wishes are: a bigger iPad, (17” would just be so so cool) and a matte display option. Something like what paperlike 2 gives to the iPad and pencil - but built in. I can’t help but imagine some variation on their nanotech technology that they use on the xdr.

Yeah, when I got my iPad Pro, it far outpaced the battery life of the ancient 2013 rMBP 15” I had been using for work, but seeing what the M1’s are getting it’s tough to not want one. The iPad Pro 12.9” (2018) is actually the second Apple device, behind the MacBook Air (2011 13” model) that I consider some of the best game changing computing devices I’ve ever owned (outside the iPhone) going back to the mid-‘80’s. If Apple can eek out 12-14 hours on the new iPad Pro, I’ll put my order in immediately for one. Otherwise I’m going to order an MBA for my daily and I’ll keep the iPP for casual after work hours use.

So I was noticing on some of the 2021 pro cases that are for sale are showing that they will have touch id in the power button like the air. Anyone think that is likely or they are just covering themselves for the air use also?

Question, I have the 2018 iPad Pro 11 inch(256GB) that I want to trade in for the new 2021 model..usually I just sell it on craigslist and meet someone in person, obviously now due to covid thats not going to happen so will trade it into apple, I know I have the option to ship it but figured maybe I would just bring it to the store, for those who have done trade ins in store, how does it work, do you have to make an appt? Do they give you a gift card ? whatever the value is online is that what they give in store?

Will be disappointed if Apple leaves the 11" IPP out of the mini-leds... but might be worth the wait if they upgrade it to OLED next year like some of the reports suggest.

Mini would be cool if it takes on the same thin bezel styles as IPP and iPad Airs.

Well the stores here in LA County are open only for appointments and pickups, so yeah you would need to make one. Yeah, you will get an apple gift card.

I think each store might be different depending on your local regs as far as appointment goes. The same values, and they give your a gift card.

Apple won't upgrade the 11", they are going to cancel it as a niche device that is not selling. Consumers are looking at at the 11" and the 12.9" and think: "Why would I buy that when for $200 more I can get: almost an extra 2 inches on screen, better battery life, and a full camera setup".

/iPhone mini inspired sarcasm

Great thanks so much!! I still have the original box and everything so will give that too..I am not vaccinated yet but my friend is and she offered to go to the apple store for me when the time goes to do the trade in, would that work or do I have to do it(Show ID, etc) just as long as every apple store does trade in, etc then it should be fine
