I am not convinced that shortages in an environment of overcapacity explain this. Asia, Russia, India running on prepandemic levels (60-70% productive capacity according to today’s Mises newsletter- anyone reading this?)

Try to buy a CPU, GPU, RAM, SSD, HDD, MB, PSU, Monitor today. Prices today are at least double what they were last fall. Higher prices are usually a result of demand > supply.

This is one reason why I ordered a Mini 16/512 yesterday. I’d been holding out for a Mini or iMac ‘pro’ announcement, but as it’s not happened, and with the current shortages, thought it was time to push the button.

I was sitting on the Apple Store buy page yesterday for 15 minutes thinking about a 16/256. And also thinking about the iMac 27 but I think I'm over Intel. They're only a week out for delivery now.

I really wanted a 27/30” M1 iMac, but it doesn’t seem to be on the radar at the moment, so caved in on the Mini, and doubt the bigger iMac would be in my budget anyway. I reckon I’ll get a few good years out of the Mini, and still have some cash left over for a decent 27” monitor.

Possibly a silly question, but I will take the chance...

So, mini-led will be somehow, something indeed revolutionary in macbooks specifically?
Other pc laptops with mini led?
Is this a kind of a mini revolution like 'retina' back in older days?

Practically, what my eyes will understand from all of this?
Something, anything, nothing?

That's what batteries are for - a coffee shop should not be a replacement for an office desk.

I had a coworker who liked to work from coffee shops. He would call me to ask me questions. I always had a very hard time understanding him because there was so much background noise in these coffee shops. He would then ask me what was going on in the office because he was never there. I imagine doing Zoom conferences isn't a great experience either.
