The law maker should also stop “freemium” model for underaged. Getting kids into a game and sell overpriced skins should be banned too. If that is the only business model
And tell me why is an iPhone an absolute essential and critical? Dialing 911? Jitterbugs can do that. Guess what? My grandparents have jitterbugs, new ones. They do not NEED an iPhone or Android.I know time flies, but this isn’t 2003.
Nah, sorry that isn't true in 2021.
Can't speak for the US because I haven't bothered to look but here in the UK the only flip phone the major telcos carry is is the Samsung Galaxy Flip, they don't even offer plans on anything that isn't a smartphone.

My grandparents have one. They do not need smartphones. iPhones and Android are just too much for them.
And? Can't put Fortnite on it or Office or any apps. So how does that relate to this bill and the people saying iPhone and Android are the MOST ESSENTIAL DEVICES EVER!!!!!!It has GPS and Alexa![]()
Increasingly impractical. Do you have a COVID app for that “jitterbug”? How do your grandparents receive e-mail? What about photos; does the family print them out for them, or do they not even bother because they’re the only ones in the family without a messenger? And tell me why is an iPhone an absolute essential and critical? My grandparents get by just fine without iPhone or Android smartphones.
So you just proved my point, iPhone and Android are not the most critical devices in the world and everyone NEEDS one. If the elderly (which has constant health problems) can survive with these devices, then a smartphone like the iPhone or Galaxy phones are not ESSENTIAL.These devices are for the elderly, they really aren't viable for most and definitely not for business.
They have computers and printers. I don't even have a COVID app on my iPhone. And you do realize these phones perform SMS messaging right?Increasingly impractical. Oh, so now computers are essential? Sounds like you’re arguing against yourself. They have computers and printers.
No. Accessing them at all is, though, and for the majority of people on the planet, a smartphone is the primary way you do that.I don't even have a COVID app on my iPhone.
Again, accessing emails while out to dinner is not OMG ESSENTIAL I NEED NEED NEED MY EMAILS NOW!!!!!!!
It is convenience not essential.Oh, so now computers are essential? Sounds like you’re arguing against yourself.

Geez people, yes I am 100% sure my grandparents use them. I would not have stated so if they have an iPhone. Are you sure your grandparents use it? I reckon they are on clubhouse on their pro max when you're not about ranting about you not buying them a proper phone.
Again, that proves the point I was making. Let's see here.No. Accessing them at all is, though, and for the majority of people on the planet, a smartphone is the primary way you do that.
It is convenience not essential.
And yes, computers are essential. How the hell am I arguing with myself? Someone said smartphones are essential, they are not. You said "What about emails" they have computers.
Again, that’s increasingly not representative of how people think. Old people love to go on WhatsApp and iMessage to see family pictures in the group chat."What about "photos" they have photo albums, you know not everyone just has stuff digitally, we still prefer to print out photos and put them in a physical photo album.
So what? If you’re out to dinner, which I hope you aren’t because we have a pandemic going on, your home water and electricity aren’t essential either, because you’re not hope. Despite that, we consider those essential.Again, if you are out to dinner, accessing your email, playing Fortnite, browsing Facebook or opening up Microsoft Word are not essential for life and safety.
Yes yes. Go enjoy your nerdgasm.Being able to dial 911, or texting is - which these non-smartphones do.
This is not Mission Impossible, where you only have 60 seconds to read your email or write a Word document.
Funny how these fictional people use a desktop PC and printer, but a smartphone confuses them.Geez people, yes I am 100% sure my grandparents use them. I would not have stated so if they have an iPhone.
They have tried, iPhone and Android OSes are just way too much for them.
If you think that’s a UITableViewController or SwiftUI List view, I have a bridge to sell you.The Subscriptions pane is Settings is non-standard? It is a ListView with a select option that opens a sheet wit hate available subscription periods offered and a button to cancel?
Sometimes the ridiculousness here is more than amazing, right? A smart phone is not a necessity, but a cell phone is... Tells you the guy grew up with cell phones but is old enough to remember pre-smartphone times. Also shows limited understanding of technological and cultural advances. If at least the argument was that messenger pigeons are the only necessity and e.g. electricity and toilets are just a convenience too... then at least one could give 0.5 points for consistency.I know time flies, but this isn’t 2003.
You think “greedy” epic and giving a hoot about consumers goes in the same sentence? At the end of the day it all boils down to Pro Business versus Pro Market, the rest of the world is turning pro market with the US still being pro business, it will get ugly, I mean the EU is lusting after Apple Pay as their own universal form of payment therefore expect to see a lot of this, epic knows they have a fighting chance in the EU with this, but of course expect the consumer to lose as always
You are probably right. It does mirror the subscription web page.If you think that’s a UITableViewController or SwiftUI List view, I have a bridge to sell you.
It’s a website.
It’s a **** user experience. It’s slow to load the list in the first place, and when you tap to open a subscription page, it’s empty until the content fades in a second or two later. Used to be Apple would reject third-party apps over that, but it’s fine for them. You are probably right. It does mirror the subscription web page.
But, hear me out here, it is a standard List construct. Whether that is a UITableViewController, SwiftUI List view, or any other various Java control options, C## control, or what have you. The concept of "put a bunch of things in a list that I can scroll and click to get more detail" is pretty universal.
Does it really matter if someone coded a SwiftUI List view into the settings pane or just wrapped a web page view? And, since this is coordinating information NOT stored on your phone anyway, the web view actually makes more sense.
I guess I am confused - was the issue of "non standard" that it was not a explicitly using UITableViewController? That seems like a bit of grasping at straws to complain about something rather than argue the merits of the point (pro or con).
Why does a computer == it being 2003? I don't recall a Windows 10 system existing in 2003. Some people actually prefer Computers + classic phones.Again, it’s not 2003. The primary computer most people use, especially very young and old ones, is a smartphone.
Not what I said.Why does a computer == it being 2003?
Yes, but most people do not, and many people on the planet never had a PC but do have a smartphone.I don't recall a Windows 10 system existing in 2003. Some people actually prefer Computers + classic phones.
AirPrint.Tell me, how do you print from an iPhone?
I don’t know why you’d bring that up, but again, a lot of households don’t exactly have Ethernet cables. They have Wi-Fi.Not from USB is it? These people have printers connected via USB because they do not have wifi, they have ethernet.
This....is....my....point.Not what I said.
Yes, but most people do not, and many people on the planet never had a PC but do have a smartphone.
AirPrint.
(Why is this relevant?)
