Correct, They claim 7-10 hours of batter life like Apple claims 5 hours. In real world they produce 5-7 hours (based on your own study you posted), and Apple produces 3-4 hours in real life. That's EXACTLY what I said from the beginning. I'm not understanding your point... they produced almost 2x the battery life in both stated performance, as well as actual real-world testing. That's all I'm saying. I have a feeling if I were to say Apple is a fruit, you'd try to argue it as well.

My 17 inch dell, with 3 batteries lasts longer then the 13 inch ultra books you are talking about. Also, I have a generator with gasoline that can power my entire house!! How come apple can't do that??

Would you PLEASE stop comparing the Macbook Air 11" to other 13" ULV models? The Macbook air 11" gets 5 hours because it has a smaller battery. Shocking I know....

I find that my 13" MBA's battery life is significantly higher than Apple's figures when used with moderate intensity, e.g. Photoshop CS6, Safari, intermittent Spotify, intermittent downloading via Transmission. You guys can argue this ad nauseam, but at this point, the nature of this conversation is pretty much speculation.

My opinion, however, is that the 2012 13" MBA's battery life is on par with it's competitors. I do understand that this is not a fact, just my experience using my computer to meet my needs.

Agreed, my 2011 Air i7 4gb 256 can go between 5 to 8 hours of normal use, internet, reading online, typing documents, posting in forums, etc...

There are two things that will kill the battery life: screen brightness and keyboard backlight. If I crank both up, and then do normal stuff, I'll get 4-5 hours out of it.

Otherwise, I bought this laptop for it to be able to run all day in court, and it will do just that for me. Great machine! :D

Love me our anecdotal evidence!

Yeah, the backlight seems to be the bane of my MBA's existence. First laptop I've had with a backlight, so I'm a little surprised that it kills the battery so fast.
