I took off at lunch and went to 3 ATT stores in hopes of getting the version 1 iphone (yes, I realized it was probably not gonna happen, but worth a shot). As I suspected, all 3 ATT stores in Dallas were out.

These are 3 LARGE ATT stores in the heart of Dallas, TX. All 3 with no clue about cost, plans, promotional material or demo units. Am I the only one who views this as suspect?

There are dozens of at&t stores within an hour or two of the "heart" of Dallas. If you really want one, start dialing the phone and maybe you will find one. Also call the Apple stores.

OP is seeing the wrong end of the stick
The amount of interest they are building is larger than old v1iPhone sales they might have made. They have 3 weeks, and it's only going to get bigger in terms of build up.
I can list if needed, but i'll just say for now, that the analysts are just starting to see Apple's intentions. Harder, faster, stronger effectivelyy - they're penetrating the world market, bringing an app store to create a huge developer set that can port to Mac OS X fairly easily, and they're putting an iPhone that does networks justice. I think waiting 3 or 4 weeks will show the original post to be unfounded.

Another insane thread. I just don't understand these people. ha. so funny.

I can only imagine how much we will all laugh at these "oh my God, the 3G is a total disappointment" threads a couple of months after we have had the new phone.

Any you know what? Next June we will go through the same thing.
