Hmm, what are these?

Software : LaCie Setup Assistant
LaCie Backup Assistant

These are not Mac formatted either are they?

Anyway looks nice, but seems like a hassle again with formatting and those softwares makes me suspicious... Besides the first one I can´t find here in the local stores. The second one I did, but there´s a month waiting period.

I found the Iomega brand from the Apple Store. Seems like the specs are in order, any word are they good?
Why does the software bother you? I don't even use the software I have 2 lacie drives and the first thing I did was connect them, open up disk utility and reformat them in HFS to get rid of the crapware and they have worked perfect every since. The drives don't have to be mac formatted you just have to reformat them it took me about 15 seconds not that big a deal.

Literally any modern external hard drive with a power supply should work for you. Just format in disk utility; it takes 30 seconds.

I have used Iomega's for years. Fast, simple, and straight forward, and you do not need to install any software, if that is an issue with you.

maybe a bit out of place. But is it possible to daisy chain a LaCie drive to a WD drive?
For example, the LaCie Quadra to a WD MyBook studio??

How about the Iomega MiniMax? Has all the connections you want, it's preformatted for OSX and TimeMachine compatible. Perfect imo :)

If it matters, I recently bought one in Belgium which came with a Seagate HDD.

(No, I do not work for Iomega, but I have used quite a lot of their products over the years and I'm very happy with their quality.)
