There was another "dude" named Suzuki who was special. In fact, he was so special, that many people forgot his name was Suzuki. We will know if this guy is as good as that guy was when he's just called Seiya.
Did you catch the video of Ichiro coming out in full uni to throw the first pitch with a full windup? Awesome.

No one is/was referring to Seiya to Ichiro.

We didn't have 85 mil to spare for him?
From what I read, Chicago offered him the biggest contract. Looking at the deals the Giants made, they clearly have enough payroll to match/go over Chicago's offer and still sign Joc Pederson on that one-year deal.

Farhan and Baer are going all-in with their farm system and that's great. But after the first 9 games of the season, Seiya's production better than all the Giants' outfielders. I don't see how Slater and or Duggar are valued more than Suzuki at this point. IMO, I would've kept Duggar for his speed on the bases and let Dubon or Slater walk.

With Heliot Ramos, Matos, Luciano, and even Bishop on the wings. It looks like the Giants will be fine.

But coming off a big year with 107 wins, signing an big name from Japan, along with all the signings they've done this year, would have a been great.

100% agreed.

P.S. I hope your feet are better soon...

I do like that the Giants didn't let last season's unexpectedly strong team sway them from their disciplined approach to signings and free agency, though I thought they might make a bigger splash with Posey's unexpected retirement. Seiya was the only right-handed bat I wanted them to sign, but in the end I think the Carlos Rodon signing will prove to be more important.

I'm not exactly sure how close the Giants' hitting prospects are. Ramos had a good cameo, but Matos and Luciano won't make their debuts this season. Doubtful that Luciano will stick at SS, but his bat will take him very far, indeed.

All that BS about cancelling games only for them to still agree with full season. Then they still are spending time during the season to discuss the details of the new international draft. Rule changes don't go into effect until next year and even then those have to be discussed and agreed upon.

Other than the DH in the NL (which is a bummer) and the new playoff format, looks like everything is back to normal.

Saw the Giants' camp begins on the 18th and that Seiya Suzuki is already in the US. Hoping he ends up with SF. If not, I will accept Seattle.

Although I'm from NL but I haven't heard about DH. I have to google it in the internet https://www.google.com/. Or maybe because I'm new in gaming? I think I should be up-to-date to info at least in my country.

I hope my Yankees team has a fruitful season, having followed them since the age of 5 I can only hope. My sister is a Padres fan and lately have enjoyed their games.

Sadly, some of their fans haven't ;) That bit yesterday with the Guardians outfielders was a terrible look.

I agree, the come from behind victory for my Yankees was mired by the horrible fans in right field. Their display was unacceptable and I hope they are banned for the season.

Speaking of the Yankees, they're somehow tied for best record in the AL. I know that doesn't matter in April, but it's shocking given how abysmal their offense has been up until today.

Kyle Schwarber was right. If you haven't seen it, and would like to:

I don't understand how Angel Hernandez has had such a long stint as the most incompetent umpire in the history of Major League Baseball. Obviously, any evaluation of umpires done by MLB has no impact on weeding out those who clearly got the job in error. The union must be protecting him, and others who are pretty bad, such as Laz Diaz. Joe West wasn't so good either, but he retired.

What I did like, was the Yankee players actually went out and tried to stop their fans from throwing stuff. Sadly, the fans, doesn't matter what stadium you are at, can be real jerks. I agree with others, hopefully some of these folks have been ID'ed and the appropriate punishment has been leveled against them.

I am glad to see the Yankees looking "a little" better!

I’ve been in other ballparks, and you’re right on fans being jerks. I’ve seen some awful behavior, even during meaningless spring training games.
