Congrats for the back-to-back wins... but I still dislike them, I just dislike the other team more. :)
I’m still showing my team spirit! Everywhere I go, there are tons of Dodgers hats, jerseys, and shirts. I’ve been doing the same since they won over the weekend.

My MacBook Pro’s wallpapers and dock are all in blue, featuring a mix of stock blue Apple wallpapers and Dodgers wallpapers. I’ll share them in the post your desktop thread if you’d like.

Are any Dodgers fans here, besides y’all else rooting for the other teams? I’d love to hear a diverse range of opinions! Let’s get out of the dugout and celebrate this win 🙌🏆!!!!

I watched the Dodgers rally live today, but I had school during the parade, so I’ll catch a replay later. Also, I saw Krenshaw up there in the Dodgers celebration rally. He’s a true legend among the team pitchers, and I’m thrilled! Yamamoto did really well in striking out the Jays!

As you should.

Finding Nimmo?
well he was shipped for Marcus Semien.
NYMets-TRangers trade

seems to me that the brass in Queens needs some fresh polish.
too bad, I enjoy the SNY broadcast but could care less if the meties win.
but Nimmo was a fixture in the outfield all these years.

The Hall of the Very Good. Surprised Mattingly hasn’t cleared this new lower threshold. He will next time his name pops up, which I believe will be 2031.

Not a fan of his per se.

Good numbers though.

His persona did resemble that of a derogatory term that rhymes with "stick." But, what you see was what you got with him, except when he injured himself during extracurricular activities. At least it wasn't a kitchen mishap, like some players have experienced.

But he did put up good numbers that were uncommon for a 2nd baseman, at the time or ever, which is probably why he got in. And he could both hit and field.

And being in the line up with Bonds didn't hurt.

It would have said more if he hadn't put up the numbers that he did.

Kent is really in because he hit a lot of HR for a 2B. He is a marginal HoF pick, but I can think of a few recent 2B who are more deserving of him: Lou Whitaker and Bobby Grich.

Mattingly isn't quite a HoF player for me. Sadly the injuries and a relatively short peak did him in.

I can't say I view the HoF as having any kind of legitimacy anymore. Whatever one thinks of Bonds and Clemens, they really should be in.

I am a little biased, as Clemens is my favorite player. He never tested positive for any of the MLB testing for steroids. Yes there were accusations, but it was just that. As we can see, this has created the dark cloud over him and I wonder if he ever will get in. If my memory serves me correct there were others named in the Mitchell report that have been inducted into the hall...

The voting members of the BBWA are instructed to take into account integrity, sportsmanship, and character. These folks have the best chances over the course of a 162 game season, and 15 to 25 seasons of play that would be the basis of a HOF candidacy. They know. They may have hated Ty Cobb but he got in. Eddie Murray was reviled by sportswriters, but he got in. Jim Rice was not exactly warm and fuzzy, he got in. Brian McNamee was a 'strength' instructor who worked for Toronto, when Clemens was there, and NY when Clemens went there. McNamee said he injected Clemens with steroids while working for both teams.

It's a lot different from being named in the Mitchell report, which I read and I was shocked at what a sloppy mess it was. I wrote better term papers as an undergrad.

HOF SHAM
such a shame Garvey, Hernandez, Gallaraga, Mattingly and Dale Murphy are not in.
the writers simply undermine Firstbaseman and the occasional 2x MVPs.

neither is Iron Maiden in the RR hall as they made great, intricate, listenable music from 1980-2019.

therefore these "halls" means nothing at all.

The word “therefore” in that post is serving as a load-bearing wall that simply cannot hold up to the strain of the rest of the post.
you can try to tear down the "therefore" wall!
I am sure others will support, like or remove a brick or two on my statement,
which is why we have these forums online.

Well the RR HOF is a joke for sure.

Any true rocker shouldn't give a damn if they are in there or not.

Some of the names you've listed do belong though...
