MMS working here in NJ, carrier file 5.1..running OS 3.1..family unlimited messaging

I don't understand this. I entered the command line and it brought up iTunes so I'm pretty sure I did that part right.

When I click the "check for update button" it brings up the browser but it will only let me select ipsw files. How do I get it to let me select ipcc?

First did you save the IPCC carrier file on your desktop (keeping it simple) if so did you click on the down arrow (search file type area).. to switch from ISPW to IPCC.. just double checking.

Click on the down arrow where it states ipod/iphone software files and choose IPCC.. then search for your carrier file, select file then click Open. Phone will automatically update with selected carrier file. IPCC should be underneath IPSW.. it "should" give you that option.

ok i followd the tutorial
did the command line
opend itunes
select iphone
shift+click
open desktop( where i downloaded zippd folder and unzipped)
changed files type to .ipcc
clicked att_us-1.ipcc ( opens _macosxfile or payload file)
clicked payload file ( opens att_us bundle)
clicked bundle file ( opens 18 files in different language )
clicked english.lproj ) assuming this i should be doing since im totally lost as it is( ( opens blank file )

ok so where did i go wrong?
i downloaded carrier file in safari and saved to desktop it downloaded as a compressed zip folder and i unzipped to my desktop when it opens browse for carrier file the zipped folder can even be found

used firefox to download works better now
still got the red exclamation

reset network settings
and wow!! i sent a pic to a sprint customer!!!
im in the middle of illinois with a family plan

just test vvm and its workn fine now too

Thank you very much for the IPCC file. I've been trying to get MMS working on and off ever since 3.0 came out (using the SIM in a different AT&T phone, calling AT&T to tell them 'MMS isn't working on my non-iPhone', etc.)

This file and guide work perfectly. I installed the IPCC file, rebooted my phone and everything works fantastic.

Also, my phone is jailbroken with the 3.1 firmware (using the pwnage tool that was released yesterday) so all of you guys with JB phones can rest with ease, it works fine. My VVM wasn't working after the JB, and it doesn't seem to be working now either, so I don't know what broke it.

iPhone 3G (not S)

Thanks again!

Edit: I have Family Messaging Unlimited

i got MMS working on my 3GS right now
but only for 3G connection
it doesnt send on wifi
followed all the steps to the point
is there a fix for this..

So i got MMS working fine... for a week or so now...

BUT i just noticed today

it seemed to break the group sms

when i try it says

"group MMS"

and it shows i send the message fine...

but the 3rd party never receives it...

anyone else notice this?

its not that big of a deal, i can wait 8 days till the new file comes out...

group sms isnt a big deal im lucky if i do it once a month

So I have a jailbroken 3G running 3.0..I have the 5.0 ipcc file and I had MMS working for the past week or so with no problems..Today I looked at my phone and the camera icon in the messages app disappeared and will not come back...I restarted the phone multiple times, reset my network settings and rebooted and nothing will bring it back

The only thing I'm thinking is that ill just have to restore the phone and put the ipcc file back on. The only thing with this is that the command to let iTunes install the ipcc will not work for me..I'm using Windows 7 64-bit and it doesnt work.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe" /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1
That command doesnt work and I tried chaning it around to pinpoint to the iTunes.exe and still nothing.

Any help? thanks

3G ~ 5.1 carrier file ~ regular 200 text plan ~ OS3.1

Today I sent a group SMS text to three people (all text - no MMS). Two to Verizon phones, and one to an unmolested stock iPhone.

All three phones registered my text as MMS. The iPhone gave the traditional "go to this website to view" thing, while the two Verizon handsets (one being a BB Storm) also registered the SMS as a MMS.

Just an FYI for those considering this hack before 9/25.

EDIT: I should add that MMS has been working for me the last two days on this setup.

you used to have a modded silver b5 a4... right?

yep! that's me... then i went to the "dark side" and got an e36 M3. hahaha

did we know each other? what were you driving?

ok, sorry for the thread jack.

not working here. getting up to 90% then stops. Wi-Fi is off.
going back to 5.0.

So since I have 5.1 now, Will I have any issues on the 25th?
Also, anybody know how to go back to 5.0?

Thanks.

Only way I found to get rid of it completely is to do a restore and set up as a new iphone again
