I noticed that earlier today the articles on the main page (when viewed on iPhone) had shortened versions visible and a "read more" button to show the rest of the article.

Since taping the button instantly expanded the article instead of loading another page, I actually liked it. It allows me to read the articles I want to With no delay, yet spend less time scrolling past articles that don't interest me.

I am surprised nobody else commented about it.

Now the feature is gone. Is there a plan to bring it back?

Yes, it'll be coming back. We need to make some tweaks to it, so we've disabled it for the time being.

Yep! We didn't like how it looked when it overlapped an image. But it should be a net win.

Easier to scroll past stories but no additional requests to expand an article.
