Can't get logged in

Don't put @me.com. Saying that, took me a few minutes of trying. Brilliant now I've got it to work.

I've been trying to log in with the '@me.com' and without it. Each time it says either my login details are incorrect....which they arent, or it says it couldn't verify at this time.

I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that there are some alphanumeric characters that it won't take in my password.
I'm not going to in effect 'downgrade' the security strength of my password just for this app. Could it be improved to accept these characters? MobileMe accepts them no problem at all!

Yeah, that's a bug, we just submitted a 1.0.1 update to address this defect. Certain characters in the password were being handled improperly - we now handle the published list of characters supported by MobileMe for passwords.

The member name (sans @me.com or @mac.com) is required on the credentials setup; we changed the placeholder text to 'jappleseed' to communicate a bit more effectively.

Hope the update makes it through quickly, sorry for the hassle.

@SteveQO

Any plans for an update to allow fast-scrolling, bookmarking or "go to page" functionality in large docs/PDFs? I have some tech docs and ebooks in excess of 300 pages that aren't really useable in this app, as I have to start from the beginning of the doc each time I open the app. Scrolling manually takes too long for large docs.

Other than this, it's a great app, good job.

This app always fails

I've downloaded it twice, and installed it twice, and added my .Mac account twice (deleting it first), and every time I ask it to access my iDisk, I get an alert box that says, "Network Error - An error occurred while trying to retrieve information from the network" and has an OK button. What is going on? I'm in an area with a working AirPort wireless net, and I've got AT&T service, too. My Calendars and Contact list both update automatically, and my email accounts work on the iPhone.

The only thing I can come up with is I've got a first-gen iPhone, not a 3G model. Could this somehow be a cause?

I can't even get far enough to encounter a network fail...

mine hasn't been able to 'verify my account' for the past 48 hours.

I had to delete this app. i was excited about it.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for posting and letting us know it was a known issue. Hopefully Apple will evaluate and approve the update soon as MobileFiles looks a fantastic app!:)

Thanks again

There are a ton of ideas being bounced around (and worked on) for the app. That's (bookmarks) also a fave for me as I have a similar use case as you do w/ long tech docs.

If the 1.0.1 update doesn't get you sorted out, PM me and we can work on it one-on-one (and report back) if you are interested.

Hello all,

Since I'm new to the whole apple cult... :) so far loving it. My question do I really need to sign up for MobileMe to use this app? Doesn't MobileMe cost money?

It would be nice to use the iphone storage on it rather then using the MobileMe password site.

Great, thanks. Any hints when we could expect this update?

So, about this Network Error...

Is there any understanding of why it happens? Or what it means? Password oddities do not seem to be a problem for me; I seem to get past that point. But the app simply refuses to connect me to my iDisk.

Can you say when the next version will become available?

This app lets you connect to your MobileMe iDisk (online file storage) with your iPhone, so yes, you need to buy MobileMe to use it. There are apps out there that let you move files between a computer and your iPhone, but this isn't one of them.

Network Error

I was able to validate to MobileMe but when I select my idisk I get the message "An error occurred while trying to retrieve information from the network". Anyone have some tips to get past this?

The 1.0.1 update is out now. Are you still having issues connecting? If so, can you email via my profile to debug this?

Air Sharing springs immediately to mind.

and Files, Briefcase, iStorage, TouchFS, FileMagnet, and probably others

Excellent app

As a self employed graphic designer, this app is proving invaluable. Have designs , price lists, debtors lists and quotations with me at all times regardless of my location. Using mobileme since launch, find it very stable now.
