I tried the 60-day free trial, and ended up buying it with my iPhone 3GS for $60. Honestly, I loved how it was pretty much instant sync between my Mac, MobileMe, and my iPhone, and how when I picked up the 3GS it was just one entry in the settings and I had my calendar, contacts, bookmarks, etc, all popped onto my phone. Also noticed that MobileMe push seems to be a LOT quicker than Yahoo push when it comes to email delivery.

Sure I can get most of that with Google. But considering it is more of a hassle to set up and get working, and considering that I'm one of those nutjobs who would trust Apple a heck of a lot more with my info than Google......MobileMe is worth it.

I have had MobileMe since Day 1.

It all comes down to whether MobileMe has what YOU are looking for. I use iDisk all the time so for me, it is worth it.

But for most friends/family of mine, GMail makes more sense. It is free and it has email, IM'ing, and can now save documents online.

So, look at the features of MobileMe and ask yourself if you will use them often. If so, it is worth it.

If not, stick with something free.

the "Find my iPhone" IS NOT going to help you find your phone inbetween the couch cushions.. its gets it about as accurate as the street/house, but its not a homing device.. its not going to beep when you get close..

"Find my iPhone" is ABSOLUTELY going to help your phone if it's between the couch cushions. Did you watch the WWDC Keynote? In addition to seeing the circle on the map, it sends a beep (and a message) to the phone - even if it's on silent.

Ditto that. I always keep my iphone on silent and I've already taken advantage of this once.

I have and love Mobile Me. I use it to keep my 1200 customers and calendars in sync with my iPhone 3Gs. Without it, I would be dead in the water. Outside salesmen need to keep in sync with their office at all times.

haha... I love nerds.. they offer so much comic relief. I can jusgt imagine reading your post in the tone of the COMIC BOOK GUY from the simpsons.

I was thinking more along the lines of Stewie from Family Guy but in a more diabolical tone ;)

Ok though seriously with a 60-day trial it makes the most sense to try the service and see if it's worth the dinar over free Google ish.

35$ from ebay., worth it.

that is usually buying a section of someone's family plan right? I am thinking about doing this...but is it totally secure? Could I do the 60 free trial and then get this $35 BIN from ebay?

25 gb of space from Microsoft skydrive does good for me :)

i just don't find it worth it, if I can get the same options via other means.

Skydrive keeps your calendars, contacts, and booksmarks in sync with your Mac apps such as iCal, Address Book, and Safari through push technology? Does it do Find My iPhone and Remote Wipe?

Is MobileMe worth it?

Hmmmmm...

Guess that depends on what you need and want.

But for me, personally, it is a waste of money.

I rely on two things when it comes to email. My phone, and the Web Interface for Email. This is where MobileMe fails. The Web Interface for Email is horrible, slow and buggy. This is one year after it's release and it still has the same bugs.

As far as the calendar, iDisk, etc, there are free services that do all of this same functionality really.

You obviously have a PC (which is ok). If you had a Mac, there would be no web interface with email, you'd use the Mail Application.

Really?

You can't use Web Mail on a Mac?

That would be a deal breaker for me as I HATE Desktop Level mail clients.

If you use all the features I guess. If you just want contact and calendar sync and don't have a work exchange you want to pair it with use Google Sync which is free.

Find the phone feature I suppose would be nice if lost in your house or if you drop it say in a park I guess and no one has picked it up. If a devious person got it though I'd just erase the phone and plugit into iTunes to restore. I seriously doubt it will help you find your phone unless the theif was retarded and didn't know how to shut down a phone.

I wish they offered a chearper plan that gave far less diskspace and only the mail, contacts and calendars and find phone feature and chearper. Otherwise useless to me.

Of course you can use the web mail on a Mac; you just can't access it on the iPhone.

Just picked up a family pack for $99 on eBay...guy emailed me the auth code and I was good to go...The push is much faster than yahoo, and having everything backed up all the time is priceless to me...My contacts and calender are constantly changing out in the field so making sure all my stuff is up to date is freakin sweet...especially when I have 2 imacs, and 2 laptops along with my 3GS...I'd pay 3 times as much for it...its like having my own personal exchange server!:D

Now with the added remote wipe and find my phone feature it just got even better!

Also, emailing pictures is faster when I send them through my me.com account than my gmail or yahoo account...

Wow, you hate desktop level mail clients and you hate the mobileme.com mail because it's too slow and buggy. Okay goldilocks.
