Okay, thanks. Sorry I missed that, I'm still working on my first cup of coffee this morning. It's in my release notes post - I've hidden it by default and you can show it again by hovering over the main navbar.

I just noticed that there are two MacRumors logos in the upper left...New version of Splitview: New split view: https://github.com/sammich/macrumors-spy-mod/raw/master/split.user.js (clicking on the link will ask for the update/install to occur).
Just some minor tidying up of code. I've added in version checking with an update notice.
And for the sake of disclosure, the mod now anonymously tracks unique users by default. There is an option to disable it at the bottom of the list of posts.
Yeah. I just saw this, turns out I need to add a line to my update instructions:
Delete or disable the old mod. It used to be called "Opinionated Improvement to MR Spy EXTRA!!!" which was, frankly, an unoriginal name. It is now more appropriately called "Split-view Macrumors Spy".
That fixed it. I deleted it and installed the latest one again.Yeah. I just saw this, turns out I need to add a line to my update instructions:

Also, did you see this in a post of mine earlier?
Also, I noticed yesterday (on Firefox for Windows 8.1), that new alerts wouldn't show up in the little flag and I had to get out of the custom Spy screen to a normal MR page to get to the alerts.
Sorry I didn't reply to it directly. I remember checking to make sure it was working back then. I had moved it down to the bottom right of the icon some versions ago (it normally floats almost off screen).
I checked Safari/Chrome/FF on OS X, and FF on 8.1 Pro and it seems they're right where I left them. If you're still seeing the issue, can you send me a screenshot?
… green dot is for …
Okay so for instance, you just quoted me above and my flag alert in the upper right did not show with a red marker on it. I went to the Watched Threads link in the menu at the top and saw there was a reply to this thread. I clicked on it and it brought me to the appropriate post. That is where I saw that you quoted me, I just didn't get the flag marked red for it. Nor does it show anything new, such as your quote, when I click on the flag. To get the flag to be updated, I have to leave the custom Spy page and go to a normal MR page.
I have not yet found time to try any of the more recent versions.
In the meantime, just one observation:
The green dot already has another meaning.
(As I discourage use of multiple ambiguous cogs that have different meaning, so I should discourage multiple meanings of green dots.)
Keep up the great work √
I saw the little notification of an update to it this morning. Pretty neat.I've made some changes, and fixed some small bugs and bits here and there.
Threads load in the background now and fade in. This was done to remove the page shifting that happens as the page loads but the mod hasn't kicked in for the inner page (which would hide header and footer portions).
Feedback is, of course, very welcome.
However, after the update, when I'd click on a thread from the Unread Watched threads page, it would take me to the proper one from the first one I clicked on. Then when I went back to the Unread Watched threads page to go to the next thread, it took me back to the thread I viewed previously.
That must have been it. Earlier when I saw the problem, I had installed 0.9.2 and then right after I replied to you, I saw another update, 0.9.5 and installed that. I think, so far, that it's corrected the problem. Can you tell me what version you're using right now? Scroll to the bottom of the live posts panel. There was an issue with clicking on threads inside the thread frame in a version I pushed out earlier today.
I seem to have encountered a new issue with 0.9.6. Its on Windows and Firefox and I would bet it has to do with the latest build of FF too, 40.0.2. Though I cannot confirm if this existed in previous builds of FF or not, as I didn't pay that close of attention. That was a hard one to track down, but basically, some part of the Xenforo init code wasn't firing and the responsive parts of the page weren't ready. So, I'm manually calling that now.
v0.9.6
Firefox issue <snip>
Thanks, I'll give it a try when I get to the office tomorrow. The current version should resolve your Firefox issues. Some other fixes and changes are bundled in as well, such as a link to the Forum's proper forum ignore functionality.
… Some early results …
