Oh yes I've used it. And the process of restoring from the backup took about 30 minutes. Not everyone has the same setup as your iPod or as little data on it as you might.
It's a 64gb iTouch, with about 4 gb remaining. It doesn't restore all the data; it essentially tells my iPod that it has a file that needs replacing/updating and replaces it.
It took me about 30 seconds to push the plist so percentages would be disabled, and another 30 (after I rebooted and made sure it did, in fact, get pushed to my device) to switch it back.
It's not like it's a system file that would require a complete install to modify; it's a single, (technically) user-accessible file. It only takes a full restore if you modify your backup and save it, then restore through iTunes. iBackupBot doesn't need to do that; it just pushes the file.
