Mojave GM Link

You'll find Feedback Assistant is always in Mac OS. Beta version or not. Feedback Assistant is not a 'beta feature'.

It's sad that people don't know this because people should report their bugs. Feedback app has been there since Yosemite.

There are still some obvious bugs for some Macs in the current beta.

You'll find Feedback Assistant is always in Mac OS. Beta version or not. Feedback Assistant is not a 'beta feature'. Do a spotlight search on a non-beta running Mac. It's there. Always. Unlike iOS where it is removed. Also further to other comments made, the Mac OS name in About This Mac has Beta removed in 11.

11 is the GM candidate.

Although sometimes there have seen two GM candidates from memory. Or a 'last minute updated GM candidate'. Maybe 11 is Apple's 'I think we'll go with it unless we find a slightly better version in the next few days to replace it' GM candidate.

Other than that, there is nothing to suggest 11 is beta.

Now this is interesting, I had no idea FeedBack was always there. On running Mojave GM candidate, I did locate the Feedback app in /System/Library/CoreServices/Applications/Feedback Assistant - is this where it has always been located on non-beta systems?

Also yes there definitely have been 2 GM candidates on past releases. Usually a GM candidate followed by a different build for release day. Wonder if we will see something like that this week ahead of next Monday's public release.

Your right about Feedback Assistant being in the OS always (I did realize, but just did a Spotlight search on my machine and found it.). But in public releases Feedback Assistant is not in the dock, nor listed in Launcher like it is in a beta version.

In addition, while you are right that in "About this Mac" the beta tag has been removed, there is still a reference to Beta in the Software Update preference pane. (And, no I do NOT have the Beta profile installed on this machine. It was a clean install using the 18A389 installer.)

There will be at least one more release that will be called the GM.

The release for everyone is Monday, so seeing how today is Wednesday already, I see it very slim maybe less than 30% that we see a release before Monday. Only thing I can see which is also very slim is us Devs getting release version between now & Friday but normally we have to install release version anyways when it comes out because version number is normally different than GM.

I don't believe that's the case. I believe it is a beta "feature" But, if you beta test an OS just once, it will remain in subsequent OS installations whether beta or not.

On a clean install of an OS release, Feedback Assistant would not be part of the installation.

Not true because the Feedback app lets you report non-beta builds.

I can't install it on my new MBP 2018 15". It tries to update my startup disk, but halts after the second reboot.

Left with this screen.

My money is on a different build number and perhaps very subtle change (to beta 11 AKA GM 1) with the public release on Monday. This has happened before. They’re obviously having an argument over releasing Cecil’s team’s build or Cyril’s team’s build. I think Cecil won with beta 11. Apple has missed the boat to formally release a GM. On my side of the world I have one and a half business days and a weekend to go. What do they get from releasing a GM in that time.

So, how does one get off the public beta and install the release version of Mojave?

Realistically, I would like to download the final version, make a USB installer and do a full clean re-install (haven't done one since before Sierra I think). But now that I am on Mojave, software updates are no longer in the App Store, so no idea how to get the full installer...

I was thinking, if I unenroll my iMac now, wait until the final release it would install and also update the recovery partition. I assume I can wipe my SSD and reinstall the OS from Recovery Mode? I actually have no idea since I've never actually used that before...

Just ‘unenroll’ through prompts in the left of the Mac OS software update window. Either accessible through sys pref or software update in About This Mac.

I use this utility to download my installers:

https://github.com/munki/macadmin-scripts/blob/master/installinstallmacos.py

You can download all the current installers (including any current beta). it will create a DMG file. Just open the DMG and copy the installer from the Applications folder. You can then create a USB installer by using the createinstallmedia command.

Maybe there will be no real GM, maybe Beta 11 will just be the last beta before the release on Monday.

wow, this hurts my brain reading, listen if you MAC OS says 10.14 with no build number after it you have the GM, end of story. Mine is 10.14 GM as of last week!

i dont care what they said, they did this the last two OS Installs!
[doublepost=1537420916][/doublepost]for now ill download ios 12.1 and screw my phone up some more lol

Installed the beta 11 first to circumvent startup issues when trying to install GM.

So far no crashes. Been great. My stack of software seems to be compatible. Recommended to upgrade. I have CS6 Master Collection, but haven't installed it yet, as I will probably upgrade to CC this autumn.
