This week has been nothing but focused on the smaller device while those who love their mac's get left in the dust

It's pretty much a culture at Apple since many years now....
Mac is not a cash cow for them... so from business perspective - even though it doesn't make me happy - it makes sense.

I still miss the days of Aperture and Mac being a big deal.... and Apple apps having that "je ne sais quoi" that made them stand out more from the crowd.
Ah... getting all grandpa and nostalgic again ....

Let's wait for Monday.

I miss the focus on the Macintosh, too. Sometimes watching mobile devices get all the attention while the trusty ole Macintosh takes a backseat can get tiresome. I mean, the Macintosh was what made Apple be what it is today.

As for Mojave's GM, a silver lining perspective... perhaps Apple truly felt they didn't need a GM, as the latest build was solid enough, and felt confident enough in Mojave that they felt the need for a GM wasn't warranted? Has there been any past precedence with this? Perhaps Leopard didn't get a GM, if I remember right, either?

Apple is going the same route as Microsoft as not making their OS the focal point of their business anymore. Maybe Apple feels Computers and laptops have reached their peak and no more advanced technologies can be achieved or any new features can be added to macOS to make it a advanced OS in the modern world

Lmao please stop.

You can’t produce the world’s content on a watch, phone or tablet. Microsoft and Apple are as focused as ever on Windows and macOS.

Just because you didn’t get a GM yet doesn’t mean the world has become flat and turned over. :p

Hi,
Today at 1:00 PM (GMT -3 timezone) I downloaded Mojave 18A389 using https://raw.githubusercontent.com/munki/macadmin-scripts/master/installinstallmacos.py
as suggested in post #52
"Install_macOS_10.14-18A389.dmg" image was downloaded to my desktop. Double clicked on it leading me directly to the installer.
The installation took around 50 minutes (Mac mini late 2012 with 250GB SSD).
No issues so far. Using dark mode though I don't find it as exciting as I thought.

Needless to say, I live in Argentina so it is running in Spanish.
No beta warnings at all (either install or normal usage).
And yes, I could not wait till Monday!
:)

I believe this the current one is GM, mostly because with this update they removed the "beta" notes in the "Analytics" screen you'd get after rebooting during the update, therefore leaving it to the user to switch off analytics.

Nothing to add, but just wanted to say - ah that takes me back. I was that "people". :)

And then the RTM build came out... But Tiger was so worth the pain.
Yeah the memories and I feel you! A friend of mine did the same thing. He just stuck with build 8A425, which bizarre enough seemed to have less issues than build 8A428 I was running on my eMac. In the end he just ended up upgrading 8A425 to v10.4.1. We were a bit baffled that worked though. Not all Developer Previews could be upgraded like that from what we remembered. You would just get an error saying the target disk wasn't compatible.

You can nearly always just use the full installer to install over the top of anything because that will just write every single file again. If the file already exists it will be overwritten with the installer version, and if it doesn't exist then it will of course be written. So, unless for some reason you want to wipe everything and start fresh then regardless of what beta version you are currently on you can just use the full final installer to full install (so not an upgrade, a full install) over the top to end up with exactly all the final OS files you should have whilst keeping all your own files.

Thanks... I sucessfully used the script to initiate the download 1-2 hours ago but it stopped after a while with some error messages. Trying to run the script again results now directly in a couple of erro messages (after selecting macOS Mojave from the products menu).

EDIT: Script worked again after removing the partially downloaded files... :)

well... at this point... as other people are saying over the internet... this should mean it's not beta
https://github.com/munki/macadmin-scripts/blob/master/installinstallmacos.py

# ProductID Version Build Title
1 091-95774 10.13.6 17G2208 macOS High Sierra
2 091-82771 10.13.5 17F66a Install macOS High Sierra Beta
3 091-94326 10.13.6 17G65 macOS High Sierra
4 091-62771 10.14 18A389 macOS Mojave. <----
5 041-03369 10.14 18A384a macOS Mojave Beta

Am I wrong?

Apple is still labeling 18A389 as beta 11, so it's not considered a GM candidate for whatever reason. It's beginning to look as though there won't be a prerelease GM for Mojave.

Guys I see more and more apps being optimised for Mojave : magnet, keynote ,evernote, ... It seems that developers are treating Beta 11 as GM.

That has more to do with the release of the Xcode 10 GM seed. On the 12th, Apple sent out an email telling developers they could submit Mojave-capable apps using Xcode 10.

Now that I'm thinking about it, the lack of a GM release is somewhat concerning... do you guys think that may pinpoint to the possibility of Mojave being postponed?
