Bought something similar years ago , struck me as a gimmick

Rather rely on the built in camera , if you’re going to start adding all this stuff why not go the whole hog and invest in a d slr or a decent compact ?
I finally did just that… the DSLR market is tanking, with good-quality mirrorless taking over so there are some (relative) bargains in used DSLR equipment now. For about $400 I got a Canon T7, four lenses, four battery packs, 256GB memory card, and several accessories.

I see your point, but the anamorphic lens was to me a million times better than the built-in "ultra wide", which uses a worse sensor and has lots of distortion and aberration. The problem with it is the plastic drop-in lens mounts for the Moment cases and lenses; they easily break, and though they're cheap, it's annoying to have days of shooting spoiled.
Anamorphic is great - that's the one Moment lens that I love.

But I could buy this and find it's incompatible with iPhone 15.

This is why I’ve moved on to a real camera. Now I’ll just buy the cheapest iPhone when I need a new one. Smartphone manufacturers and companies like Moment have had marketing that’s been highly effective at convincing us to keep forking over now thousands of dollars for what is actually slightly beyond a point and shoot. The difference between the latest iPhone SE and the highest end model that came out before it is negligible. Biggest factor is crazy HDR and sharpening.

Totally agreed with you, i F*ing regret getting the iphoner 14PM and give away my 12PM.......
the camera on the 14PM is garbage.....
i dont think apple will fix this.
i'm strongly thinking about moving to the samsung galaxy s24 ultra when it comes out.
Mind if i ask what type of real camera did you get? i would like to know in case i get me a real one for real photography.
Thanks in advance.

I also own a real camera.

Let me know if you find an anamorphic lens that costs <$1,000.

First I got a Canon G5Xii, which was pretty good, lots of features in a small package. But now I’ve got a Fujifilm X100V, and I love it.

I didn't have a camera when I was a kid. Such a weird tagline. I wasn't compelled by that commercial at all.

There are plenty of them - add-on 58mm “filter” type adapters, which is essentially exactly what Moment is doing. They’re not changing out the whole lens on the iPhone, so comparing that to a true anamorphic lens is an apples & oranges comparison.
