Anything arriving at an Apple store today or tomorrow would have been requisitioned on Friday before 5, probably based on line size. If you're going to a store that had a huge line on Friday, this afternoon or tomorrow morning might work. If your store had smaller lines, my guess would be Wednesday. Best Buy and the others? Tomorrow at the earliest.

Yeah, I'm in Houston and so far we have yet to see a store that has or is getting stock in today, seems odd but if that's the case then I do think apple rushed this to market. I mean NO shipments on a Monday after the launch?

Waited in line at NYC's UWS store this morning. About 9:15, an employee came out to say nothing today; check back tomorrow.

I posted this in another thread: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1116685/

I talked to my local Apple Store and they told me that starting tomorrow, March 15, they will be opening at 9am for iPad 2-only sales. He also said none would be sold today. I suspect they are holding today's shipments, and each daily shipment thereafter, for the morning iPad 2 line starting tomorrow.

Seems like a nice way to consolidate the iPad 2 sales and simplify when stock is available. Everyone will know if you want an iPad 2, show up at 9am.

Reports of Apple employees lying or giving misinformation are running rampant so I'm still holding out hope.
When I spoke with my contact @ 6am PST, reading between the lines there does seem to be an unusually high level of disorganization on Apples part. They simply failed to prepare properly.

Apple in Huntington, NY received a shipment around 10:30 today; I saw the pallet with Apple labels, could even have been 2 (didn't check that one for labels). Manager claimed no iPads, just printers and accessories. I'm having a hard time believing it.

What a bunch of creeps and stalkers. :D

*I'm sitting out in the parking lot, I see a fedex truck with apple **** on it. Gonna post some pics. IMA get me one!*

The "no shipment on Monday" story follows what we were told by the Walnut Creek Store Manager last Saturday. He was adamant that they would not get any on Monday and told us to check back on Tuesday. Also stopped by the Union Square Store in SF Saturday afternoon. They had one 64gig black Verizon model left ... and two blue shirts there said come on back on Tuesday.

Makes me wonder if there is going to be major shipments to stores Monday and Tuesday with the idea of having significant availability for Tuesday when the doors open???? Just thinking out loud.

My experience...

Just my experience at the Galleria in Houston tells me something is up. I have no inside info, but it seemed weird. First one of the employees came out and said they got them in, didn't know what ones, but they had them. Then someone else came out and said they weren't getting any, it was the covers they got in.

Once the store opened and people would ask, you could see the staff sort of look at each other and there were a lot of whispers going around - then they would say to try tomorrow. I'm seriously thinking they are holding shipments and want to do another push starting tomorrow.

Well, at my Apple store, they said they didn't get any today and didn't expect any. Then the typical "Try back tomorrow". Sigh... Don't know what to do now but wait. At work tomorrow, if they get them in, I bet they still all get taken by all the standard daily customers who aren't working that day. At my Apple store, there were about 50 stay at home moms trying to snag one!

It sounds like they're definitely holding out for tomorrow's early opening. I'm going to be there early to try. I'd definitely ask if they're opening early.

At the Apple store in Missin Viejo, CA yesterday the manager told me that they will be receiving a shipment today, but that they will hold it and put them out for sale tomorrow morning. So it sounds like a lot of stores are in the same boat and if they get a shipment they do not put it out until the next day.

Maybe they are holding stock Monday to add to stock received Tuesday so I they have a number on hand to sell?
