So my line access fee is $20/month. Will it only increase to $40/month if I stay on a subsidized contract with Verizon? A couple family members upgrade to the 6 a few months back and all their line access fees went up to $40/month. I'm assuming the, if I go on monthly installment plans, my line access fee stays at $20/month and then I have to add the monthly installment fee on top, correct?
The line access fees in general confuse me, because I thought that regardless of what plan you went with, once you got a new iphone it would go up to $40/month
Little harsh don't you think? Some not not be able to afford the financing. Some prefer or have the resources to pay in full. I pay in full each time. In that case, I say you're a fool if you make payments.
I'm not trying to be super serious about it. But if someone asks you for $500 or whatever and lets you pay it over two years without interest but gives you the $500 device right then, you can sit that money in savings or pay off credit cards earlier. But then if you've got oodles of cash sitting in a bank account, it probably doesn't matter too much. Shows you how much these carriers profit when they give you 0 percent interest over two years and start throwing a free $650 phone at everybody.

understood. Strange that verizonwireless doesn't even give me the option to go the subsidized phone route. It only says I can buy at retail or go with a monthly installment. Is this the subsidized option only done in stores or by calling them?
[doublepost=1474087135][/doublepost]So, if I want to upgrade to the iphone 8 next year, Verizon Wireless locks you in for 2 years w/o allowing you to upgrade ($31.24/month), but Apple allows you to upgrade when the new phone comes out ($36.58...which includes Apple care).
So it seems to make sense to go with Apple over Verizon, or would it be possible to upgrade my iphone 7 to an 8 come next year on a verizon monthly installment? Doesn't seem like it...but I heard some people are trading their 6's in for 7's ....
