I like the idea. It's the MagSafe Duo just slightly better with the power adapter included. I don't love how it looks all wrapped up. At this price point, I would expect something better.

I don't really understand why they make the leftmost spot designed specifically for AirPods? If you purchase AirPods Pro today (I think it's the same with the AirPods 3 as well?) you get a MagSafe compatible charging case using magnets.

There is no point in having the groove. Just make it flat like the charger in the middle so it can be used to charge multiple phones if needed. That groove just limits the functionality of the product without giving any meaningful benefits. Even if you have AirPods with the older charging case without magnets you wouldn't have any problem with simply laying it on top of a round charger. This design just ensures that you can only charge AirPods on the left, iPhone in the middle and Apple Watch on the right when it could be more flexible by just making the leftmost charger flat with magnets like the middle one.

The omission of Apple Watch Series 7 fast charging feels like an oversight as well. The MagSafe Duo doesn't support it, which is dumb, but that charger got released months before the Apple Watch Series 7. This charger didn't exist until months after the Series 7 got released so why wouldn't they ensure that it supports fast charging for the watch? Especially considering the price.

US$150 for bog-standard charger in a fancy-pants (but cheap) case????

Something is wrong with society.

That's one ugly charger, but I can see the convenience of the form factor for people who travel often. That said, no fast charging Apple Watch puck is a bummer given the price point

I thought 5 W was fast charging for the AW 7 (and the old watches used 1-2 W). The Apple support page says that any 3rd party charger needs to support USB-PD of 5 W or greater to fast charge the AW 7

Maybe this charging mat (block? riser? platform?) shows why Apple stopped trying to make the AirPower. Perhaps there wasn't any mass producible way to make AirPower functional and attractive.

At first glance here, I thought Morphie's charger folded up into a compact and nice looking gray felt lozenge...but the actual product page on Apple's website shows a thick and squat carrying case. Too bad.
I'm not sure you can say how thick it really is without a another point of reference in the pic (that's what she said).

Looks about as compact as possible and it's nice that there is a spot for the charger and cable.

Yes that’s for the charger, but you also need that the Apple Watch puck itself is compatible with fast charging. It’s not specified either in the article and on the Apple Store page, it’s probably the regular Apple Watch puck, so the power delivery is irrelevant to fast charge the Watch

The thing that doesn’t make sense to me, is that if you’re charging overnite while traveling, there is zero need for “fast” MagSafe charging, which is clearly bumping up the price for no good reason. MagSafe isn’t fast or efficient when compared to wired charging.

If you’re traveling and really want to do fast charging, what I have been doing that works great, is to take one 20W (or higher) USB-C charger, one USB-C to USB-C cable, one USB-C to Lightning cable and my Watch puck (also USB-C). The cables can all be wound up and secured using a fabric or rubber zip tie, so that they take up no more space than a folding charger like this one or Apple’s.

I simply try to do some charging of my iPhone at night before going to bed, but then have my iPad Pro connected over night. In the morning, I’ll top off the Watch first (I sleep with it on), then plug my iPhone in to get it up to 100%, while I have my coffee and get ready for work.

Here is why a product like this makes so much sense…one charger. That’s it. I now only travel with one 30w charger and two cables (lightning and USB-C ends). I love my Apple folding charger for my phone and watch to charge while I sleep, but adding the AirPod space is a huge bonus as I use those quite a bit when I travel as well. Just try finding ONE plug in the typical hotel room. Good ones give you just one on the lamp next to the bed, so this is perfect in those situations.

No doubt these multiple charging at once chargers are great for charging 3 devices at once, but if you had just one 20W, or even 30W+ charger, you can fast charge the iPhone and Watch (7) fast, so all you need to carry with you are a couple of cords and one charging block. AirPods are one of those things that don’t require nightly charging of the case, unless you’re literally wearing and using them 8+ hours a day, but of course they can be charged using the same cable as you use for the iPhone.

My point was you can travel with a small amount charging equipment (one charger and a couple of cords) and fast charge the same iPhone, AirPods case and Watch and not have to pay $150. Frankly speaking, if you spent ~$60 on a 65W+ USB-C multi-outlet charger, which are often not much bigger than the 20W charger bricks Apple uses, plus cables for your iPhone and Watch, you could fast charge faster than what you’d get with one of these travel MagSafe charging devices.

I guess we simply do not agree...the business traveler is who these are aimed at...and that's me.

Having the smallest charger possible, no extra dedicated Apple watch charger/cord, being able to have all products in one place while charging and visible on a nightstand, all in one product? The only reason I also carry a USB-C to USB-C cord is that I have been getting away with using my iPad Pro in place of my laptop on trips.

EDIT: And fast charging isn't typically a concern for me, but I do carry the plug and cables in my bag during the day just in case and leave the charging pad in my suitcase. With everything topped off overnight, I have never needed to charge during the day (at least in recent years...iPhone did run out back in the day, nut no issues with my IP12ProMax)

Looks pretty convenient, but it's likely to become junk in a hurry since the AirPods case opening seems to fit only the current design.

I too am a business traveler. I’m just not willing to spend the extra $130-$150 for a combo MagSafe charger when I can carry one charging brick (no bigger than Apple’s or the one that Mophie includes with their combo travel charger) and 3 cords and also never worry about having to charge during the day. I’ve also gone full iPad Pro as my daily driver instead of my MBP.

MagSafe, to me, just isn’t a great solution for anything other than my bedside charger, mainly because I end up checking email at 3am (I work with a factory in China), so it’s convenient when I’m home to grab my iPhone off the charger with no cable hassle, then set it back on the MagSafe charger when I’m done.

What I realized early on, is that wired fast charging is just so much faster that I could leave a hotel each morning just topping off devices while getting ready in the morning. I get that you don’t need to do that because you’re happy with the MagSafe multi-device charger, but as the saying goes, to each their own.

Agreed on most of what you say as I also am "working" 24 hours a day unfortunately and like you, automatically wake up around 3 a.m. to clear Asia emails.

My biggest issue was the extra watch charger/cable...it's the only way to charge the watch and I also hate that it doesn't position the watch in night mode (easily) so I can see the time when I wake up. That really was the deal breaker for me in wanting/needing something like this.

Agreed. I like that it comes in black, and for what you get there is a LOT of cheaper working alternatives out there via Amazon's online store.

With no 15W MagSafe charging (Apple you really need to bump this up on iPhone 14 onward across the lineup), and no fast Apple Watch charging makes this one of those why did Mophie even bother?

Why would they support MagSafe but not AW7 fast charging ugh
They are buying the charging pucks from Apple to include in this. Apple may not be ready to sell the fast AW charger yet.

BTW I suspect that this is one of the reasons for the price of this product. Not sure what Apple charges for those pucks but they may not get a good enough deal to make the price any lower.

Belkin recently released a 3 in 1 charger which supports both MagSafe & Apple Watch 7 fast charging, but it's quite less portable than Mophie's

Think I'll stick to my wired charging - I'm even considering selling my MagSafe charger as I don't use it! Happy to just plug my devices in as and when need be (I have a 2m Apple Charging cable too, which makes things even easier!)

Like others said, releasing a 150 dollar charger without fast AW7 support is just wrong.

And I also think that it’s time to move away from the dedicated APP spot to a second magsafe.

Put two 15W MagSafes as well as fast AW7 puck with a decent 45W (or more) usb-c brick and I’ll buy it at this price. And make sure that full power can be achieved with 2x iPhone Maxes and AW7 charging simultaneously.

A little amusing when people complain about the price when a single charger for the watch costs close to this price. And don't get started on the price of wrist bands for the Apple watch and the scraps of leather for the air tag that would be throw away material but now costs $350 because... Apple!

Not something I would use, my devices are all pretty much always at 100%, watch charges every night and easily lasts a day, phone sits on a charger all day at work, plugged into the car while driving, I go to bed with 90 - 95% battery. I assumed everyone would charge their devices over nice, at least the watch which is why I don't really care about fast charging for my Apple watch.

I think you might be a little off on the cost of some other chargers, but people still seem to be missing the point.

This is an all in one travel charger. Meant to be used for overnight charging of your devices. Looks to me that it does a great job of that in about as compact and easy to carry form as possible with all included brick/cables needed.

I also don’t charge my phone at night or even my AirPods. But when I travel? Hell yeah…that’s the only time I typically have.
