Unless they drastically changed when they first came out at 100 they’re still too expensive.

Charging was hit or miss they weren’t clear when they were on the pad and it’d drain super fast trying to Qi charge the phone.

The apple case at a list price is much superior battery and just works. I loved Mophie up until this last group. Terrible stuff.

Confused by this one, seems like its the same as the Juice Pack Access just fully enclosed with a lighting port but maybe a smaller battery?

I wonder if you can set the charging. On the Apple one, once you put it on, it charges.

I'd prefer one to NOT charge until needed (i.e., by me pushing a button).

Wait---I have the Apple one for the XS Max. If I used my 15 inch MBP USBC brick with USB C to lighting it will fast charge BOTH case and phone?

Yes, it fast charges both and it's super convenient. I usually forget to charge my iPhone @ night and connect it while I shower/change in the morning...a good 60-80% battery in like 20 minutes. For my business, it's worth it. I recommend! (I'm talking about the Apple one.)

Yes, that's the one I have. Will give it a try and thanks for the info!

$100 for Mophie battery case functionality that can be had from a half dozen alternate products at a third the price on Amazon and that get the same or better reviews. What gives?

Ok please help me decide which is better: Juice Pack Air or Juice Pack Access. I know the Access allows the lightening port of my XS Max to be accessed. I'm not understanding why there is two different products. Earlier today before I knew there was a Juice Pack Air I ordered the Juice Pack Access directly from Morph for only $74 instead of $99 (rep offered the discount). Should I call back before it ships and order the Juice Pack Air? I need this now to take on vacation and Apple is not shipping until August. Thanks!!!

Wondering the same thing, I'm going to guess now that they put the lightning connector on the case itself that it accomplishes the same the same thing that the Juice Pack Access. I've had the access for a few days now and two nights so far I've had charging issues with my Ikea Wireless Charger.

EDIT: I did order the Air as well, I have a 30 days return for my Access case with B&H so figured why not...

How does the Access charge the phone? Please explain. Thanks!!

I purchased the Juice Pack Air made for iPhone X but I use on my iPhone XS at my local Staples store on sale for $60. It only has the micro USB on the bottom but I charge it wirelessly and it charges my phone case at the same time. Product works great and the lightning connector isn’t worth the additional money to me. I am sure you can find this version on sale somewhere too.

Wirelessly. Not very efficient. Yesterday I used the battery and woke up the next morning to my phone charged but not the case. Phone was on the charger for 6 hours and that wasn’t enough time to charge the phone and the battery pack.

Ok you had the battery pack connected to an outlet for 6 hours using the USB-C and the phone inside the battery pack and it charged the phone but the battery pack wasn't charged?

As part of a promotion for Amazon's upcoming Prime Day, the site is now offering exclusive Prime member access to Mophie's new Juice Pack Air Battery Pack Cases designed for the iPhone X, XS, and XS Max.

The Juice Pack Air battery cases for Apple's newest iPhones are similar to the Juice Pack Air battery case for the iPhone X that Mophie released back in November. Mophie's battery cases are designed to provide extra battery life for Apple's newest iPhones and are offered as an alternative to Apple's own Smart Battery Cases.

Priced at $99.95 for both the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max versions, the new Juice Pack Air cases are able to charge using a Qi-based wireless charger or a Lightning cable, a first for the Mophie battery case line.

Mophie says that the Juice Pack Air was designed to be slim and lightweight, but as it is a battery case, it does add a decent amount of bulk to Apple's thin and light iPhones. An LED light at the back lets you know charge level, as this case is not able to integrate with the iPhone in the same way as the Apple-designed cases.

Both versions of the case come equipped with 1,720mAh batteries inside, which Mophie claims will extend the iPhone's battery life to a total of 34 hours, which is presumably talk time. That's similar to what Apple promises from the Smart Battery Cases.

Amazon is offering up the Juice Pack Air cases in graphite, black, red, and rose gold, and only Amazon Prime members are able to make a purchase at this time.

I have had experience with the Apple charging case and the Mophie Juice Pack. I did not find the quality in the Mophie product and, at that time, the connection was a miniusb which made little logical sense.

My wife went through one Apple smartcase on her XS and they replaced it and it broke after a month too. Both white. My black one still works but it intermittently loses connection and vibrates off and on. Also, Apple's cases have been out of stock awhile with ship dates into August now. New models came out when they added a rose gold option. Trying Mophie now.

I am highly impulsive and almost pulled the trigger on this despite already having the smart case from Apple for the simple reason this doesn't have that awful bump on the back (at least from pictures). Glad I came here first. My impulsiveness didn't notice the chin, not to mention I already spent bucks on the other case. I don't want my Xs to begin resembling a big bezel phone again.

No. Pack was on wireless charger.
[doublepost=1561984864][/doublepost]so this case is much smaller (thickness) than the Juice Pack Access. That's why they are listing it as having a smaller battery than the Juice Pack Air.

I still prefer wired headphones when I travel. I do have the adapter but unfortunately, it doesn’t connect on my current battery case. Can you tell me if that is an issue with the Mophie?

I’m thinking there was a defect. I just returned mine this week, and I’ve had it since launch day. Rather than exchange it, Apple gave me a full refund, citing having no idea when they would be back in stock. The battery in the case would disconnect from the case itself if light pressure was applied to the sides of the case. After a few months it was really frustrating.
Mine does the same. Will they refund me if I bought it from Best Buy?

Yes. Even with a smaller battery though, the Wireless Access version seems very inefficient, so you still probably get more power from the Lightning Air version, plus it will charge faster than wireless.

I never have problems with the case/phone charging as long as I go to bed early enough; however, a lot of power from the case is lost to heat when wirelessly charging the iPhone. I bet only close to 50% of the power reaches the iPhone battery.

The Apple brand battery cases have really bad reviews on Apple's website, mostly complaints about the lightning connector inside the case that plugs into the phone disconnecting intermittently, and they are out of stock in all stores and online until August. Looks like Apple may be addressing the issue and re-tooling how their own cases are made.
Yes disappoints me because I love the dual battery widget and the feel of it. Hope they are actually pulling them because they are remanufacturing without the defect and we can exchange then,

Audio does NOT pass through on the Mophie Air :(
