Touch case looks like a messed up iPhone case.

real?

hmm...you would think if a NEW ipod touch case were coming out it would fashion the newest ipods...all of which have the january update (mail, stocks, weather, etc.) which this doesnt...yeah i no some ppl dont want to change the pic in the case but still...i think this could be a case for the old ipod touch but the makers just wanted to have "clear wifi reception" or something like that...so they cut out the front...

Kind of looks like a candy bar type cell phone. I think I prefer my 2nd generation nano better. We will have to wait and see.
Too bad there isn't any news on new laptops :-/

I hate this Nano mock-up. Real or Fake. I loved the nano fatty as soon as I saw it, it just worked for me. Either way, I am not in the market for a nano so it does not impact me. On the other hand, I am buying a touch sometime in Sept so a new model is welcomed.

The case is probably for the iPhone 3G and some idiot cutout a piece of the case to make it look different. My understanding was the proximity senor works through rubber/silicone, but the ambient light sensor cannot be covered. This is my guess why there is only one hole on the left side of the speaker.

EDIT: Also, some are thinking that the light can get through the semi clear case, but this case probably comes in black, etc. Also, the Home button is way to high on the touch so it is an iPhone 3G case. Why do people waste time with things like this, atleast be creative.

Whoever said that some people have the old pictures for iPods, you are so right. It's these cheap crap pictures of when the iPod Touch/iPhone released.

The funny thing is that MOST people in this forum HATED the fat Nano when it was released...and any references to the Zune are at the very least silly, since the Zune itself copied the original Nano's design...so it's all Apple after all...

Actually, most of the people on this forum hated what they saw in the leaked photos, but when those same people saw the phatty in person, they generally changed their minds and loved it.

That may happen with this tallboy too.

How do "cheap" manufacturers get the measurements of unreleased iPods. I call fake.

No. A lot of "cheap" manufacturers use older screenshots.

I mentioned nothing about them getting unreleased iPods measurements.

I'm just saying, they've use older screenshots on product advertisements before. And also, correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it leaked rubbery iPod Nano casings which gave away the game last time?

Here is the case with the packaging.

I call fake, no doubt.

And I can set a case on top of a paper insert with an arm strap. Also, normally case manufactures create paper inserts that allow you to read full details that are not covered up by the product, but hey, what do I know.

or could it be....

... this is just a thought, but could it be that the so called $th Gen iPod Nano is not the new nano but the new "classic"? Since the introduction of the iPod, Apple has always either gone smaller or bigger capacity. So I actually think we are seeing pics/mock-ups of the new iPod Classic in it's slimmer form.

Just a thought.

I loved the fatty when i saw it but i hate this *new* nano. I can't see apple going fat and then back to stick-shaped again, it seems like they would be saying "woops"

Apple's said oops before - remember that they shifted back to alumnium and colored bodies for 2nd generation nanos...

There's no HDD that would fit in that form factor at the current time unless it was a SSD and there's NO way that the iPod classic line is going solid state yet. It's too expensive for the sizes they would want.

From a design perspective, the fatty always bugged me -- so much wasted empty space on either side of the click wheel. As soon as I saw it, I said, "Why didn't they turn the screen 90º and keep the narrow look that everyone loved with past nanos?" (You know, the best-selling iPods ever?) Also, I think psychologically the skinny nano is more appealing if you're going to wear the ipod jogging (ie. on an armband) -- even though in practice the fatty was light and thin enough to work, it just didn't look right aesthetically. I assume the goal here was a slightly bigger video-capable screen with a return to the old form factor.

As for the touch case, I'm baffled. I have a 16GB touch with a Griffin iClear case, and it doesn't need a cutout for the wifi or the ambient light sensor. If that case is real, it's terrible and needlessly makes the ipod vulnerable. I concur on the "no way it's a front-facing camera" sentiment.

No way that is the new ipod touch. It doesnt have the new 2.0 software, let alone the January update. And that case is just awful

Its not. Its just a picture of a case designed FOR the new ipod touch.....with an old touch inside it for reference.
