Looks good to me. For all the whiners above, you need edges because how do you expect to hold the thing? And the home button and speaker being in the middle allow right and left handed use.

I expect the bottom to look like a MacBook Air... but I suppose the top could still look like an iPod. All-glass makes sense regardless of size.

The kind of glass that Apple uses can bend. My new MacBook Pro (w/ SD-card slot) had the glass panel on the front of the screen come partially off (Thanks to a factory error with the glue that holds it on [Which Apple fixed very quickly. I got my computer back in a total of 18 hours]) And it had a good amount of give to it.

Why can't these people buy a Nikon D90 of D300s? Hey, how about a Nikon D700.

These noisy images are crap.

I agree with noisy images being crap, but no most people can't or don't want to get a $700+ camera. Besides any halfway decent, $120+ camera could take a perfectly fine picture to post on a website.

EDIT: And I am 99.9999947352272% sure that this is fake.

I think MacRumors Page 2 expresses my views on the truthfulness of this.

Perhaps MacObserver just needed some attention, noting the large logo.

Don't forget, Page 2 does sometimes have true stories while the front page has only rumored things. Just depends on how interesting it is. How many articles have you seen on the front page about the tablet? That's still only a rumor, right? Then why is there an article about EFI firmware updates on page 2, even though that's actually true?

With your hands resting on the underside... Why would you need edges that pronounced anyways?

I think the point is that these images aren't even from a halfway decent $120 camera.

The side areas would get in the way of any thumb typing.... then again, this has a sexy new interface. Who knows.

I believe the thing would be just a screen with minor border. Home and off buttons would be up and off the sides. However, the ear hole would be the speaker place... would hope they used a stereo set of speakers.

If this is real, it's a little disappointing in terms of design.

In other news, archeologists in Egypt uncovered what appears to be an ancestor of what we know today as the iPhone.

Preliminary studies have shown that it was able to survive by evolving a superlung that operates much like today's iPhone, where air only passes one way.

This gave it the ability to absorb more oxygen from the then oxygen-low atmosphere of the Triasic period, and also allowed it to grow many times the size of today's iPhone.

Preserved stomach contents and plastic marrow indicate that it was mostly vegetarian, limiting it's carnivorous diet to small insects and the early Nokia handsets of the time.

Scientists are still analyzing their find, but they have no doubt that this is indeed a breakthrough discovery for what life must have been like for one of the earliest iPhones to exist on the earth.

Guys look closely!

As one poster above said -- it's printed on a transparency sheet

Until you realise that it is, it looks pretty convincing as a real object, not just an image. haha!

Ha!

Cracks me up as much as the first posting. Why on earth would there be a giant slit for your ear on a Tablet? Come on fakers, at least PS out the ear slit.

iFake

It seems that I speak for others too, when I say that I hope that this oversized iPhone imitation is not going to be the actual bezel of any Apple device.

Two years ago, this would have looked cool. Today, it is dated and unimaginative. On top of that, the ratios do not add up... It's a fake, isn't it? It's not even an actual plastic peace.

Hmm...

Funny, there was a detailed comment from a poster a week back whom he'd described from a friend who works in a dialysis center treating an Apple Executive. His friend thought she was looking at a "big iPhone" but a prototype coming out in a few months.

I'm seriously doubting the poster, but having pics especially looking like a large iPhone is making me ponder. Whether its fake or not, it still looks nice while paralleling the simplicity of iPhone's form factor.

There is no reason that an ear piece would be on that device...if it were to be a speaker, it would be in a different place. Nope, sorry nothing here.

Think about it... If this thing were to be faked, why would a faker put an earpiece in the first place? Hmmm..(perhaps to throw us off)

I've seen tons of iTablet mockups and they don't have an earpiece like the one shown here...

In addition, audio is best heard coming out from the front not the side.

This better not be real. This thing looks so stupid. To anyone who actually wants it to look like this... WHY!? As others have said, Johnny Ive can definitely come up with a way more appealing design. If this is really it, how lazy of Apple, really.

Have you not seen a glass bowl? Or a curved glass window?

Glass CAN be curved and it is relatively simple to do.

Now, the functionality of it might be less and the screen behind it would need to be something special. But that is not out of Apple's realm of reality.

I know that glass can be curved. :p

Its very unlikely Apple would make a curved tablet though.
