You got it wrong. It's obiviously for dropping in loose change. Then when it fills up, you take a hammer to it and hit up the candy store.

You have the coin slot idea correct, but your implementation is all wrong.

As the coin passes through the slit, it is digitized and sent to Apple. $0.25 per minute of use.

It allows Apple to sell the new Tablet at a reasonable price while still making TONS of money.

Personally I think it very well may be a part of the real deal! :apple:
Were not almost all photo's, wich turned out to be real in the past, looking like this? Bad light, bad quality?

The "slot" is there for the speaker and there will be a front facing camera (I hope), so video conferencing will be possible with the device.

Where do you think that camera would be if that bezel is real? There is no hole for it.

The bezel isn't the finished product is it!? So we'll just have to wait and see.
The finished product, will probably look great, with or without that bezel being real.
Didn't I mention, in my previous post, next to 'camera' I HOPE?

If it looks like that, it'll fail - and I'm sure Apple knows that! Why bring out a brand new product with a three year old design?

People want a tablet, not an iPhone on steroids. A massive iPhone would just look daft.

If it does look like this, I certainly won't buy it. It's nowhere near sexy enough.

We are all right.....

It appears to be sitting on a pillow to me. A pillow that is not a perfectly flat surface, one that has a curved surface.

I'm with you about the pillow, or tablecloth or whatever lace thingy...
As far as the other post concerning the camera quality...probably a great camera...low light intentional so the 'stretch' can be less obvious...fake

So many people hate this, but what did most of you actually think an iTable would look like?

Seriously, all this tells us is:

It has a rounded rectangle shape.
It has a 10" screen.
It has space left and right of the screen to hold it (in landscape mode).
It most likely has a single front bezel button.

What about this is so terrible?
Picture your ideal iTabley design with similar features, what does it's bezel look like in a cruddy grainy picture?

It does not tell us how thick the device will be.
It does not tell us what type of enclosure the device will use.
It does not tell us what side buttons the device will have.
It does not tell us what kind of ports the device will have.
It does not tell us how stupid you are. Well, not completely.

I think some people are seeing this and mentally extrapolating iPhone like thickness in scale. Don't. Only silly people would do that, and you're not silly.

I'm not saying it's real, but even if it's not I don't expect something that far from this for the real thing. You'll need room to hold it. It'll probably be black. It'll be a big curved rectangle. It'll have a single front button or no front button at all. It may or may not have front facing speaker(s).

The reason for the shadows etc is that the glass is covered with a sheet of plastic with adhesive holding it to the glass. The surface is bent because the plastic sheet was peeled back or removed at one time and then replaced.

I would not be suprised if this was legit, and not surprised if it was fake. However it looks like the object is a physical object and that the sheet covering the screen was replaced.

Couldn't this be just one of those large "display" mock-ups of an iPhone? You know, something that you would see at a kiosk selling iPhone related paraphernalia.
That would explain the large slit, which makes no ascetic sense for a tablet computer and the very large hole in one corner.

I hope that's not it. If all it is is an iPhone/iPod Touch bigger, as that is all that picture is, I will be pretty disappointed. But I doubt Apple is stupid enough to just do that.

What if

I think [as some others above] this is just part of the case for one of those bigger iPhones you see in the shop windows. However, if this was an iPad bezel, could be that you are looking at the front but are able to see through to the back [have another look at it and you'll see what I mean]. The round hole could then be for the home button - who says it needs to be on the front - and the slot could be for the dock connector, although it could just be some other slot in the back of the bezel for construction purposes.

It would seem daft to put the speaker on there like that - when watching movies in landscape mode, to only have sound come out of the right or left side only (as little a difference as it makes to having "stereo" on something that small) seems very un-Apple-ish.

Indeed. I predict it will be designed to generally be in landscape mode, with speakers on right and left, and home button on the long end.

Following up last week's report of a claimed image of Apple's tablet "glass" that appears to be more accurately described as the front bezel, The Mac Observer has received two additional images that provide a greater sense of scale for the part.

The Mac Observer again notes that it has been unable to corroborate the information presented in the images, and we remain skeptical of their claims.

There is no way this could be an image of an Apple Tablet, why? well if you look, you see a slit in the lower area of the claimed device. Where in the iPhone this is where you would place the phone to your ear. It's a tablet not a phone. And I just hope that there isn't a home button on the device, because its a tablet not an iPhone, yes use the I phone as a guide Apple, but don't just blow it up and call it the Apple iSlate or iPad. You can surely do better than that Steve;):apple:.

Exactly. Forum reactions are never a good way to judge what Apple is about to do, except of course, if you see an entire thread like this one agreeing on "Fake"...then its probably real. I'd put money on it at this point, just because of how confident this forum is that's not real.

That confidence really = fantasy hope.

So much this. All evidence thus far points to this being real.

If this forum has taught me anything over the last several years, it's that people here have no idea what they are talking about when it comes to predicting future Apple products. Mockups people make are never close. Specs people predict are never right.

There is no way this thing is anything more than a very slick media pad. Changing the Digital Publishing market like they changed the digital music market will be where they start. There is no way this is some fancy multitouch keyboard Wacom-like accessory. No way. That is too complicated for the average consumer.

When it is announced, the people on the forum will hate it. They will call it underpowered and they will say it lacks some "must have" features. And it will probably sell like hot cakes.

I don't like you.

Well, that settles it then! You have convinced me! The Apple slate will not just be an iPhone on steroids. It willl look completely different so as not to leverage the success and branding of one of the most iconic products of the last several years. And unlike the iphone, it will not be feature limited at release and have features added later, but instead contain complex multitouch functions that only a small amount of people will have the hardware to even use, let alone understand. It will not be to publishing what the iPod was to music. First and foremost, it will be an input accessory for a Mac.

Or did I just hit a little too close to home? Sounds like you will be one of the first people to bash whatever is released because it does not live up to your unrealistic expectations.
