Is this going to be the biggest let down of the year I wonder?

End up being just a modded fuel band, with just a load more sensors, linked to only work/be compatible with the iPhone's new health apps, and that's all this expectation will end up being in reality?

To be perfectly honest, if your description is accurate, I want the device badly still. Sounds like a nice product.

I think I would feel self-conscious wearing an iWatch. Hoping Apple can make these things compelling enough that they become super common and therefore not overly conspicuous/attention-grabbing.

"A distinct lack of product leaks and tangible rumors have suggested the device is not yet in production"

Yeah, but Apple just might be highly successful in keeping the wearable's secrecy this time around. That thing could be ready to ship along side the iPhone.

Something tells me that this iWatch is going to let a lot of people down. I think our expectations of it are way too high compared to what Apple has in store for us.

"Something" also told Mark David Chapman to murder John Lennon.
See what he got.

Just give me a watch that will show me text/messages/notifications, provide an alarm clock/timer, remind me of appointments/tasks, and track health biometrics. I don't need Swing Copters on my wrist.

Now just wait, this is Apple we are talking about. Since Steve went back, have they ever released a whole new big product that was a flop? Nope. Every product has come on the scene with a bang, and excitement...and awesome features. This is what I am totally expecting from Apples wearable.

Still think the watch concept is nonsense with smartphones now ubiquitous. I could see the utility as AR takes necessitating additional convenient input (tracking hand motion?).

As it stands it's just a bad idea. Battery life ridiculously low, screen size too small to be of much use for content or for a rich touch-driven ui. There's a good reason this hasn't come out before.

I expect a runner's watch with an ipod and some health sensors. About as unexciting as it sounds. Hope I'm wrong.

I just thought of something...

Why does this watch have cellular status if it only connects to Bluetooth enabled iPhone ?

Is there something else here ?

Consumers aren't going to buy into that fad unless it brings something more.

Too late. Consumers are already buying tons of fitbits and fuelbands (et.al.), and becoming addicted to wearing them. One with an Ive design, Beats or Apple logo and Leica build quality might only boost this fad to a new level.

Why do you even want this?

I see lots of first world problems memes if that's all it is...

it's soooo much work to pull my phone out of my pocket.

iphone 6 part leaks: 10+

iwatch part leaks: 0

no iwatch this year

Apple usually announces a new product before the start of manufacturing (MacPro, iPad, iPhone). If this hasn't moved to manufacturing the likelihood of a leak is far, far less.

My iPad first gen continues going strong. Never had a single issue with it.

Except Apple's crippled its utility by refusing to support it. The hardware itself is still fine, but try to get an app to run on it...almost all require iOS 6 or 7.

It's a mockup...it could have 5G on it. it's just someone's (in this case, crappy) idea of what it may look like.

The only way I'd buy an I watch is if it had some sort of kinetic charging so I don't have to take it off every couple of days to charge it.
