...or telling someone a dream you had last night (unless it's x-rated of course ;)).

even if your dream is x-rated, sometimes you should tell someone. maybe you get lucky! LOL sorry about the off-topic, but i couldn't resist!!:cool:

by the way, why is last-fm in bold, and black with the highlight in blue?

I'm more interested in them giving iTunes the Snow Leopard treatment and optimizing it, rewriting it in Coca and in 64 bit. It's one of the last holdovers from from the original iLife suite still not in Cocoa.

Couldn’t agree more.

As much as I like Apple lets be real. The company is PUBLICLY TRADED and they must do whatever it takes to keep their swag competitive. I know a lot of folks miss that bit of reality. I hate to think about it to but stock holders want that money! And so does Wall Street.
I just can't until they make Numbers better. And give me that tablet!

Though these rumors may (or may not) be true, those screen shots almost certainly are not - unless somebody's got hold of the buggiest application to come out of Apple.
-The dodgy facebook and twitter icons that just don't fit right;
-The Last.fm is bold in black even when not selected, though the playlists are still in white when selected;
-The social playlist is really just a playlist; not even a smart playlist or a special playlist as you might expect;
-The "Total: 25 tracks" is cut off at the bottom in the last.fm screen shot;
-The top corner of the "About iTunes" box is unrounded with a white pixel;
-There's no shadow around the About box;
-And the 9 of iTunes 9 is in the wrong font.
-The Playback Bar at the top of the main window seems to have a darker box within it, the edge of which cuts off the edge of the change view button

I'm hoping this is a mock up and not somebody thinking they can pass it off as real!

LastFM

My first thought when seeing this was wondering if Apple would then integrate LastFM into the ipod app for iPhone and iPod Touch. That would allow for background streaming!!! I think that would be awesome!

J Lo

Let's hear it for J Lo's "Aint It Funny"! Definitely one of my favorites from Ms. Lopez.

Call me a grumpy old man, but all I wanted was a bloat-free, snappier iTunes. :\

Ok you're a grumpy old man.

.......

But then, I must be too - I have no use for extensions and add-ons that bring the social community into my sphere of existence. Sheesh. And I'm pretty sure no one needs to know that I enjoy listening to Yanni while having a bubble bath.

....whoops...

That would be great. I agree.

But I image the caos of code that is in the actual iTunes after all this time.

Those pics look so fake! the '9' is thinner than 'iTunes' and the facebook/lastfm/twitter logos have white borders round them.

Last.Fm in iTunes menu?

Hopefully this doesn't spell the end of the Last.Fm app on the Iphone.....

I wonder.. There is a Last.Fm button in place of the Ringtones button in the iTunes panel. I've never used the Ringtones feature in iTunes, maybe Apple is replacing it.

I totally agree, they are terrible. I can't believe anyone would think they are real!

What?!

SOCIAL?! That Word Shouldn't Even BE In iTunes.

Apple Has Made Its Killing With Its Simplicity And Its INTELLIGENT Designs. I Think That Sharing Playlists And Gifting Music Is As Far AS It Should Go.

BUt This Idea About Shifting Most Used Apps TO The Front, GREAT!

I'm definitely bookmarking this thread.

Soooo many people are (again) making claims of "FAKE!" We'll see.

Now if only I could find something for the mac that wasn't itunes that just played my music like the earlier version of itunes, I would jump ship in a heart beat. I wonder if I could do multiple itunes installs? I could keep the current version for syncing my iphone but keep version 5 or 6 for music management. I miss the old itunes. Its only a matter of time till itunes will allow you to register to vote, become an organ donor ( Need a mobile me account for that though), declare your sexuality, and adopt children from poor countries. Since the program is free, I'm sure apple is already trying to figure out a way to place banner ads in it somewhere. Then Itunes will only work if you have a network connection. Apple ---> leading the way

All the more reason to get working on fixing it up! :D

I hope they aren't replacing it as I use it with my iPhone.

While I agree that they are probably fake, I don't agree that everyone would spend time niggling over tiny pixels, etc. from crappy screenshots. I CAN believe why anyone would think they are real. Let's not be sensationalistic....

iTunes is slow? Even on my G4 Powerbook it's fast and the interface is hardly bloated.

??

I never understood the level of anger people seem to have toward later versions of iTunes. It's pretty simple to only use the music management features from earlier versions in later versions. The program certainly doesn't feel any slower than in the past for doing solely music management. So what's the beef? Do you just dislike the mere option of managing video through iTunes?

Hopefully it does. Look at it this way. If it's in iTunes, Apple likes it enough. If they like it enough, they might do one of two things, either integrate it into the iPod.app or release their own app. Both of those would be great things as it would probably also allow background streaming. :D;)
