More Details on iTunes 9's Social Media Integration?

How about the ability to display your iTunes library in a MobileMe gallery? Visitors could skim through albums in Grid View mode, and stream previews directly from the iTunes Store.

Integrating the last.fm radio functionality (and hopefully it's extensible via plug-ins for other sites) would be a great augmentation to the "Radio" option that's currently there. It'd be a nice way of streaming music videos, capturing lyrics, and artist information. Also, it'd be nice to be able to scrobble to last.fm.

I don't think I need a be-all-end-all social networking aggregator from Apple, however. I'm rather skeptical about Apple pushing into that territory with a standalone app, but I suppose it's feasible.

funny, I sent a suggestion to apple similar to this.. but am currently using last.fm to scrobble my music =) be nice to have it integrated.. sweet!

Apple should make a Itunes Lite or something. Sometimes it is nice to just have the basics: music playback and organization.

Or... you could just disable the stuff you don't want to use. Almost everything in iTunes is disable-able.

I agree...I'm not buying any of these rumoured iTunes updates.

And what Mac has a Blue Ray drive?

If iTunes was going to support Blu Ray, the Mac line-up would have to be updated and Blu Ray support would be been announced at the WWDC 2009.

Oh, I believe the rumors, but I agree that it'd be myopic at best for Apple to bloat up iTunes even more than necessary. Blu Ray drives in Macs and support for same is something I think will come eventually, but I'm not in a hurry to embrace either.

Speaking of DVD importing, I wonder if perhaps Apple will DRM the video that iTunes imports so that you can only play imported DVDs on computers that are registered to your iTunes account. This would help prevent pirating and it would be just like buying the movie on iTunes. That's pretty exciting!

I dont think I'll be downloading this one, I cant imagine how slow and laggy it would be, though I would hope under SL it would run pretty fast.
