Apple did release one version on a Saturday.

grasping at straws

Hopefully the upgrade process will be smooth as I really don't have time to do a clean install...that'll have to wait for christmas holidays. I've never really anticipated an OS...until now!!

10.0 was released on a saturday.
they also released 10.1 on a tuesday.
10.2 was on a saturday.
10.3 was on a Friday, which was the second to last friday of the month
10.4 was on the last Friday of the month.
So it seems like we could have it other days, maybe tuesday the 30th and then we would have 2 versions released on each of the same days of the week.

I went into a local Ottawa retailer to arrange a brand new mac pro and 24" iMac, he slipped that apple already gave him confirmation for the release date. Basically he inferred that Friday or Monday.
I've waited this long to get my new machines and old machines updated so a couple days more will be easy to handle.
It is going to make handling artwork files a dream - no more waiting for Adobe Illustrator to fire up every time I want to check a version!

I reckon Al has got the whole weekend.

I think they should put up a quote for Al: "Global warming is important, but even more so is the imminent release of Leopard. Let the countdown begin!"

Mmm. Looking good.

I really wonder what secrets they have that haven't already been leaked...

I am thinking nothing major, but maybe some new looks to the interface... some nice eye candy like we have seen in Time Machine using the new Core Animation

With all the hype of Leopard and its imminent release, I only hope that it doesn't disappoint. From an outside point of view, this thing could explode for all the wrong reasons. However we have waited long enough for a potentially amazing OS not to fail.

Bring on Leopard (I need a new machine :D)

Blasphemy.

I'm reading so much rumors these days I don't think its healthy anymore :p Need to do my work and stop reading from this site :D :apple:

Bite your tongue. ;)
I'm trying, but its almost impossible to hurt it on purpose...

I have messed around so much that my Mac is in dire need of a reinstall, but I don't want to backup and spend all the time on it only to do it again in two weeks!

Will Leopard be Shipped with Desktops on 26th?

When Apple releases Leopard OS X does that mean it will also start being shipped with the iMacs, MacBooks, etc. on the same day? If there is a delay how long will it be?

Thanks:apple:

Still Think Big Secrets Yet To Be Revealed

Could be performance secrets they won't want to tell us about until release time. Could have to do with Boot Camp too.

Yes immediately. At first they will be a drop in install DVD you must install yourself on top of Tiger then pre-installed with no more Tiger after about a week.

Refurbs all come with the original install DVDs plus a general install DVD for Leopard and iLife '08 DVD.

man i was hoping to wake up and see the countdown :(

I hear you, I need a reinstall too. Lots of junk hidden on that puny laptop hard drive... developing on a Mac sure messes things up, just like it does on any system. :-(

Here's a tip to hurt your tongue: put the very tip of your tonge to your upper row of front teeth, open your jaw slightly, roll back a little from your desk, close your eyes and let your whole upper body fall forward. At some point your jaw will hit the desk and your tongue will be a little shorter. Also, you may loose a tooth or 2 and a bunch of brain cells. :p
