totally cool
One reason the online brand advertising industry hasn't been able to catch up offline brand advertising – despite how much time consumers spend on line these days – is that many ad-buyers are trained to believe that if Web users aren't clicking on their banner ads, then their banner ads are being ignored.
This is stupid because people are very unlikely to click on banner ads. The people who do tend to be poorer and less educated.

When is the last time you clicked on one? I may have clicked one by accident about 6 months ago.

I rarely click on ads, actually I run AdBlock Plus and find the web pretty close to unbearable without it. Mind you, I do unblock sites every once in a while on sites I visit regularly and fire up a couple of ads, as a token of my appreciation.

I have a few times. Usually while searching for deals on something, and Google happens to catch on.

Likewise, I have about a .3% clickthrough rate on my WP7 app.

After seeing this thread I clicked in a couple of banners to support the site.

I usually do that in the sites I like to show my gratitude for the good work.

Come on guys, it only takes a few miliseconds!

Never clicked an ad. They don't have a place on my browsing experience so I use Adblock to remove them all.

I click on ads on Macrumours every once in a while to support the site, but otherwise I would never do it intentionally.

That's pretty much me. Ads get clicked as a result of my fat fingers.

Ditto for the fat fingers. Definitely a problem on my iPhone.

I, however, have never been swayed (knowingly) by ads. TV comercials are a sign to flip through channels, mailers are to be recycled, bilboards are viewed by me negatively as a blight on the landscape. I have alays been the bane of Madison Avenue.

Since clicking on ads doesn't hurt you in any way but does bring revenue to their site they are on, I'd encourage you to click ads on sites like MR. Even just 1 per day can increase revenue bringing new features for everybody!

I have clicked on an ad for a company or two that I have done business with to see what specials they are running. But for the most part, the ads I see are for businesses I choose not to do business with. And just because the ad is not clicked does not mean it has not been seen...
