[*]Apple selected the thinner design with a 1472x828 display, two-layer backlight, protruding camera, Gorilla Glass, and a 1810mAh battery over the slightly thicker design with a 1704x960 display, one-layer backlight, thinner bezel, flush camera, larger battery, and sapphire glass.[/list]

Technical and QA/QC issues were apparently behind the decision. For example, the last minute change from one-layer to two-layer backlighting required a change in display to a different panel with a lower resolution, and use of that panel also required a larger bezel.

If what you said is true (we'll see tuesday), i will stay with my iPhone 5S for another year...

Did anyone else notice the LED flashing between the volume controls? You can see it flash a couple of times at the :48 mark...

No, but even if it was can you explain the significance you’re alluding to?

That is true, I was thinking it was just the model number for some reason.

I never even noticed till I actually checked mine. Having said that maybe it’s been covered up to hide the fact that it is a fake, (I so hope so).

My gut still says fake, but a very convincing fake.
They do show a lot of different apps in the new video, but still haven't shown the notification screens which animations are hard to reproduce.

why go through all the trouble of making a fake presentation? For what gain?

Future CEO of Apple

Thanks Mr Tim Lee, future CEO of Apple, practising Key Notes with Apple Devices!

Just bringing it up. No significance really. I suppose I would say that it seems like a strange place to put an LED if this is the real deal...

This guy will go to Guantanamo...ill pay the iphone price just to see Tim's reaction.

If it was really an iPhone 6, he would of showed us how he logs into the phone using touchID. And nobody would show their faces or else apple would be at their doorstep in a heartbeat. All these fake android clones of the iPhone 6 are garbage. People forget when an iPhone 4 was forgotten at a bar, apple wanted the device back because it was real. Apple couldn't care less about all these clones.

Why are ppl complaining about the camera sticking out??? Doesn't the Galaxy S5 camera sticks out too??? Image

I think Apple customers are a wee bit more demanding about design than Android customers.

Incidentally, here's a leaked photo of Samsung's original prototype for that Galaxy phone:

True, but that case was in the US. It was easier for Apple to get on that.

On an Apple blog, why should it matter what other manufacturers do? I fail to see the relevance given this is a forum for discussing Apple products.

People are complaining because they prefer the flush aesthetic of previous models. As a Nexus 5 user, i don't have an issue with a protruding camera; especially since I use a case that renders the device flush. I can, however, understand that this design choice, if true, is out of character for the "clean" principle typical of iPhones.

Just my $0.02

can see a SIM card tray (no embedded SIM?) - suggests phone is not waterproof as per some earlier rumours. This is disappointing if legitimate, just a bigger screen an maybe mobile payments using BLE and TouchID - probably works on 5S as well.

Interesting that we haven't gotten any news on the C model devices (6C?). Either no one really cares about them or maybe Apple is dropping it already.
No, there will be a 6c. And it will have the size and innards of the 5s in the body of the 5c. Or they might just keep selling the 5s as it is, like in all the years before.
