Had the 12 mini, superb phone but decided to try a max phone for the 13. Other than the finding it hard to pocket the beast, everything else is great. Some software issues but should be fine after updates.

I’ve always had the bigger phone. XS Max, 11 Pro Max, & the 12 Pro Max. I decided to get the 13 Pro this time around and I don’t get regret so far. I love how compact it is and I don’t have that extra weight when using it.

I've never used large versions, but this time after reading and watching reviews, I decided to change my X to pro max. The battery life on the new phone is very noteworthy - it is simply impossible to discharge it :) Given that I plan to use this phone for at least several years, the battery reserve will be very useful. The size and weight are still unusual, but I think I can get used to it. It is usually said that getting used to the new dimensions takes about 1-2 weeks. I only use it for 5 days. Now I'm picking up my old iPhone 7 and it seems so microscopic and easy :)
Well, if I'm still not used to it, I'll give it to my wife, instead of her 11 :)

Yeah I’m going to try and give it an honest chance. If I don’t, I’ll be wondering ‘what if’ and I don’t want that internal struggle. I know what the Pro brings and I’ll happily return to it if this proves too much.
So did you end up with pro max or the pro?

I always went with the regular one, with the one exception where I picked the iPhone 8 Plus. But very, very shortly after, I bought the iPhone X. Since then, I always picked the regular model. But I decided to get crazy this time around, to get that extra screen estate and battery life. It's a beefy phone, but absolutely zero regrets about going large.

I'm not saying I would never return to the regular size again, though. It depends on a few factors, like battery life but potential other differences as well. Last year, with the iPhone 12 Pro series, I was disappointed that only the 12 Pro Max got sensor-shift OIS, larger pixels and slightly further zoom as well. While not incredibly huge differences, I thought it was a bad choice to give the larger phone extra capabilities, considering the regular one was expensive enough already.

And they've done this in the past (iPhone 6 Plus got OIS whereas the regular 6 had to do with only EIS). And the iPhone 7 Plus got the telephoto lens (+ portrait photos) whereas the regular 7 didn't.

Now, lucky enough they didn't go that way with the iPhone 13 Pro series. So that wouldn't have been a reason to go to the Pro Max anyway. The larger screen and battery sizes on the other hand are great reasons. :)

Well I got my hands on a Pro Max after having the Pro for a month or so... The PM is too big for me. Weight didn't bother me but the size did. Happily going back to Pro.
