I just received my Clearguard after ordering it last week and I'm absolutely amazed at the manufacturing precision. Not only is it incredibly thin (and all but disappears when placed on the keyboard), but it fits the keys perfectly.

For my previous-gen MBP, I purchased a Zcover from the Apple store. I rarely used it because it was too thick (hard to see keys under it) and it didn't fit snugly. The Clearguard is an amazing product. I would highly recommend it to anyone as protective about their computer as I am.

Here are the pics. :) I had to take a time out. :)

Couple of the overhang also showing the function key fitment, one without the Clearguard to show how it affects key color and one on the Apple Wireless Keyboard to show function key fitment (looks good) and overhang.

Thanks so much. That doesn't look too bad. And can I close the cover of the laptop without leaving an imprint on the glass screen?

You're awesome!! :)

The Clearguard isn't leaving any imprints on my screen from closing the lid. However, I don't travel a lot with the laptop so when the lid is closed there's usually no pressure applied to the lid to force it to touch the keys. That and since my lappy is so new I basically wash my hands before I use it so there might not be any residue on the Clearguard to transfer over to the screen.

Mine just arrived last night and I'm really happy with it. It's a nice fit and the slight overhang everyone mentioned is there, however I doubt it will be an issue as it's barely noticeable. I wouldn't advise using this outdoors on a breezy day! The only thing keeping it down is gravity!

The "clearness" isn't quite as transparent as shown in the pictures on the main Moshi website, however, it's pretty close. To be fair I work in an environment with a lot of overhead florescent lights, so it easily produces a glare similar to the glossy screen on the 15" MacBook Pro. When I first tried it on at home the this appeared to be absent in a moderately lit room.

I've included two pictures to help demonstrate this. Sorry for the lack of quality, my Blackberry isn't the greatest camera!

Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase. I would highly recommend this to anyone like myself who hate keyboard oils (aka Shiny Keys).

Love it

I have had the moshi on my MacBook AIR for a week now---I love it.

I used nothing on my previous AIR, and I ended up with shiny keys. And it was permanent. So when I got this one (Rev B) I bought a key cover from the Apple store. It was so thick that I could not type with it, and it really looked bad, kind of "hazy". But I deffo wanted something to protect the keys

So I ordered the Moshi--it's really thin, and after two days, I can type normally with it. Also esthetically, it has not altered the look of my MacBook.

I am also using the Crystal Power clear screen cover.

So I think I'm set...

So the film is only held down by gravity? Hrm, I thought it had some stickiness to them. Gravity is doing all the work, does that mean if your fingers are slightly sticky or wet, that it will pull the Moshi skin up? o_O

I just received the Clearguard for my 13" aluminum... not really a fan, gotta say. I'm finding it really difficult to type (right now I feel like I am punching the keys rather than tapping), and it doesn't look very good in light. In dark, it looks fine because the illumination of the keys... but it doesn't feel great, either. I wish I could return it, but no returns once open! Awesome.

However, I also purchased the PalmGuard and I like it so far. Didn't put on the trackpad part because I like the way that feels/works too much.

i heard u need to give it 2 days to break in..

Guys, I got my clear guard today, and I'm currently typing on it, and I have to say, I don't like this at all so far. Typing is spongey, and it's more difficult to type quickly, accurately. I can live with the function keys fit being off slightly, as it doesn't interfere at all with typing or use, but this just feels SO foreign. I'l going to force myself to keep this on for a couple of days, to give it an honest try, but something tells me this won't be staying on.

My want for protection is not to prevent spills into the computer, it's to stop the acid from your skin from causing the keys to shine. I almost wish someone would come up with something clear that you apply to each key, like an iPhone screen shield, only a bunch of little shields for each key. Sure, installation would be a pain in the ass, but once they are on, you would be good to do.

I want to like this. Not sure I can get used to it. :(

This is what worries me, but it looks soo thin compared to silicon alternatives and looks like my best bet since I'm afraid of shiny keys.. an invisible shield for each key would be nice lol, jsut won't prevent spills but that's something I'm careful about, just rather not have shiny keys..

It is very thin. I think the plastic material, even though is so thin, is also quite rigid, so it really gives resistance when typing. I'm trying so hard to like this... So far, It's not happening.

I just got mine today. I like it a lot. No issues with typing or anything. I also got the palmguard and its great. I didn't use the trackpad piece since I like the feel of the glass. It blends in real well too.

Moshi doesn't seem to have Clearguard for the early 2008 mbp
would the Unibody Cleaguard version fit an early (old) 2008 mbp ?

I want to also tell everyone that I received mine yesterday, and could not be more pleased. It fits so perfectly, and is so thin, you don't even realize it is there.

It also fits onto the Apple BT Wireless keyboard, so I ordered a second one. Now I can protect both keyboards from dirt and the shine that develops from body oils and dirty fingers! I ordered through Amazon.com and it was shipped by http://jowow.com/.

It came in just two days and cost $26.78 because they are located in San Diego, and I am in California so tax was applied.

Apple should carry these in their stores. Sometimes I don't understand why they don't carry some really great products, like Booq Bags, or Waterfield Bags (two examples).

I also got mine from JoWow a few days ago. Shipment says it's going to be here on the 23rd though. That's like, two weeks. From San Diego to Metro Detroit. I wonder if it would have been better to have just ordered it from Aevoe. Hopefully the shipping estimate is wrong.

I just got mine, ahead of my MBP 17". It looks great, but Moshi packed it in a GIANT box with tons of bubble wrap. Its the most wasteful thing I've ever seen. The CG comes itself in an envelope. I'm sure the skin will work nicely, but if I'd known how they pack their items I would never have ordered it.
