"ooohhh, lookie here! we have a new feature, a compass!"

this year's ground breaking feature (the compass) is just like last year when the ground breaking feature was "oooohhh, lookie here! if you put the iphone in landscape, the calculator turns scientific!"

utterly lame.

Ye your right, because landscape calculator was the ONLY new feature last year.

And the compass will be the ONLY new feature this year.

apple doesn't need to hype anything up.....people here hype themselves up over dreams and illusions.

here's a hint: the "new" iphone every is expecting.....will look just like the current 3G only with a matte back. nothing else will change physically on the outside. it's gonna be the same.

Mossberg more than likely already has a new iPhone and he has a way of being ambiguous enough to keep people at the tips of their seats while not giving out any true NDA information. I would believe every word he says when it comes to Apple product releases.
More likely another Apple press paper, after signing the NDA, telling him what he can and can't write/speak about.

Mossberg is in the know. Either a guess or true info what he's writing about will be a fact come next week.

i think that iphone 3 gen picture headlines above says:

Funny, curious, advanced. The new iphone is for everyone
Thiny, curious, advanced. The new iphone is for everyone

one of these 2 forsure.

But if its thiny, then does it mean its smaller in size? or is it thinner in size?😱

How about 'Phony, curious, advanced. The new iphone is for everyone, but not everyone will be able to afford it without a big loan!' 😛

Ebony??

where did you get that picture from? I am really curious

It was actually posted (via a .de link) on a local forum that I visit, so I popped over here to MacRumors thinking that it'd already be here, but I couldn't find it so I added it to this thread. Usually it works the other way around - I find interesting Mac news here and post it on my local forum.

Sorry the photo was so huge, and then that so many people quoted it - but I thought it would be just the sort of thing that other MacRumors forum members might be interested in...

🙂

Large images should be wrapped in timg tags. Now you know. 🙂

While Mossberg's iPhone prediction is interesting, I'm still more interested in his Pre review. What bothers me is that he's comparing the app stores, when one is already established, while the other is starting up.
I'd give Palm a few months to get their app store established before I pronounce whether it's an utter failure.

Engadget points to comments by technology reporter Walt Mossberg as evidence that the new iPhone is indeed imminent. Mossberg posted a new review for the Palm Pre in which he acknowledges that Apple is poised to release a new iPhone at WWDC. In fact, he's very specific about what he expects next week:While these comments from anyone else would be dismissed as idle speculation, Mossberg is a long established technology reporter who either seems to believe all the circulating iPhone rumors or knows it for certain. Regardless, we'll all find out next week at WWDC.

Walt was pretty much right on the ball with this one. Apple is slipping. This year's release reminds me of a kid in grade school who tries to weasel their way out of forgetting to do their homework yet tries to pretend that they're all prepared. :apple: 😡

Exactly. This is like those circular wikipedia references, where someone looks up wikipedia and uses something from there in a published article, and when the "fact" get challenged by moderators at wikipedia, they just cite the article!

This list is *exactly* what has been discussed on macrumors. No more and no less. His source is MR. Therefore MR can not use Walt as a source.

LOL LOL LOL
